Hey, this is free editing! This would cost a lot of money if you hired someone to do it. I think it's pretty awesome. These ARE people, and the information given should be correct.

I think it's really helpful for him to do this for the site, and I don't feel like he's trying to embarrass or insult anyone.  I'm sure Mike is appreciative - who wouldn't want the info on their site to be accurate?

I think it's kind of shitty that someone would spend their time doing something like this and then get rude comments like 'get a life' etc.  People come in here complaining about the site and get flamed, and then people come in here helping the site and get flamed.  Come on people.
I totally agree. It's nice to see someone who is particular about stuff. I am really anal and terrible for wanting things to be done correctly in RL too.

Honestly, how with how long it took to put that list together and how inconsequential any of it is, I could have lived with the site the way it was.  Someone took many, many hours (without pay, or any other compensation to do this -- and without being asked).  I am not terribly impressed.  If you are, awesome.  I can't help but think that people would have something -- anything -- to do with their time.  And it made me feel sad for CCC.

As much time as I spend here and elsewhere online, I wish I had the patience to do something like this. Its better brain exercise than sitting here posting DIAF or LOL or LOLWUT.
I can appreciate ccc's contribution to the site.  And since when do you have to receive compensation to do something that you are interested in doing?  I AM impressed that ccc did this without being asked. If everyone did something for someone else that wasnt asked of them and without expecting compensation, this world would be a better place.  Ccc, my grass needs mowing, but I'm not asking.  Haha.  Apparently ccc enjoys editing.  I for one, think he/she is doing something that admins/mods have neither the time or patience to do.  I don't see it as bragging at all or trying to embarrass/insult anyone.

You keep doing what you do, ccc.  I think it's awesome and somewhat amazing.

I've been honestly concerned that supporting this is problematic.  What if this person has a 'problem'?  Would you encourage someone to continue hoarding because it keeps items out of landfills?

What if this person doesnt have a problem? What if he just likes editing.  Maybe he has a method that makes it less time consuming than it would most people.

Or, What if they are OCD?  What if this kind of thing is useful to keep this person from digging in landfills to organize the empty cans possibly cutting their finger on the aluminum and contracting tetanus?

A lot of people think we are speshul for even coming to this site.  There must be something wrong with us for being interested in death.

I think it's awesome and somewhat amazing.

ok, seriously though, i dont see anything wrong with what ccc is doing.  its helpful to have the correct info.  its a good thing.  :-)

and the mds boss seems to like it.

I think editing is super fun, especially when the reading material is interesting.
I wouldn't want to live in a world without editors.

I wouldn't have the patience to do what ccc did without getting paid to do it, however.

Not picking, but it is an 'interesting' choice of how to spend one's time.  It's not being social, but rather coming to a site and looking for errors.  Whatever.  I really don't care if s/he does it.  I just think it's sad.  If you don't, cool.  I'm just thinking about how (from a research perspective) that person put hundreds of hours into creating that list.  To me, that's sad.

to me, its not sad if thats the persons *thing*.  the world needs people like that, because not everyone is going to want to do that kind of job.  and really, we dont know how much time was actually spent doing this.

ccc, how long does it take you to compile this info?

I do research, neen. I could develop a research model to figure it out. And honestly, I can't decide on any way to do it that wouldn't involve hundreds of hours.  Seriously.  Day after day after day.
