BORING, Ore. -- A father from Gresham was killed and his son hospitalized when their car was hit by another car whose driver lost control at a major intersection in Boring. The crash happened Friday night at about 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of SE Orient Road and SE Waybill Road.

Marco Antonio Guererro, 48, died at the scene of the crash . His 14-year-old son Marco was a passenger in the car. The teen was taken by ambulance to OHSU and released in fair condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Guerrero lost control while driving through the intersection at a high rate of speed, according to Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office investigators. Jeffrey Wayne Hunt, 21 of Gresham, was not seriously injured but the passenger in his Volkswagen Passat, Daniel Herrington, 21, also of Gresham, was taken by a helicopter to Emanuel Hospital. He suffered two broken legs in the crash.

After crashing head-on into Guerrero’s Ford Escape, causing it to overturn and trap the driver inside, the Passat came to rest in the middle of SE Orient Drive. Seconds later a Hyundai Accent driven by 39-year-old Melissa Kay Davis of Boring, slammed into the disabled Passat. She was injured slightly, treated and released from Mount Hood Medical Center.

All drivers involved in the multi-vehicle crash were wearing seat belts. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor but speed was, according to investigators.

Of course the one person to walk away un-injured is the guy that caused the entire thing. :x  I see criminal charges in his future.
