The death that struck me the most was James Wills. Struck and killed by a car as he was walking in the crosswalk right before my eyes. The driver was an asshole that was being a Fucking Jerk the whole time while James lay in the street bleeding out and then died. It happened in South Pasadena on Pasadena Street right where it turns in to Monterey. Just before the train tracks on the Highland Park side. July 22nd, 2012. I'll never get it out of my head as long as I live.

I have to drive by the scene multiple times per day and it sucks because that's all I see when I do. I still leave flowers every year. It was terrible. He was missing half of his face. I literally have PTSD from it. If I see any kind of Pedestrian/Auto accident no matter how minor I flip my shit. And I'm paranoid driving and walking. Always on my guard. I never want to see anything like that again.

I know of someone who does it until their kid is like 4. It's the "safest" way for them and they wait until the highest weight limit to turn them around.

Yeah, my fiance came upon a jumper in downtown L.A about a minute after he'd exploded all over the street and I always wonder if he thinks about it.

Okay so I read pretty much all of the Bram blog and there's just one thing that really frustrates me. She puts all of the blame on the driver and none on her son or her husband who was with them. She says her son didn't run out she says her son did nothing wrong but the driver was never charged and if the kids were standing next to the car there's no way that Lincoln navigator could've just taken him down.

I get it, it sucks your kid paid the price but this blame other people to make yourself feel better really irks me. Just like the story I posted about the decapitated baby. She tried to sue even though her baby was inproblery buckled in the front seat. Stop the blame, start the healing. Mistakes happen, grieve your son.

A lot of pediatricians are now recommending backwards facing till age two. Something about internal decapitation not something I really want to learn about on a personal level .

My mother was working security and she came home Christmas morning and she sees our neighbor facedown on his lawn she thought he had a heart attack when she flipped him over, no face and he was lying on a shot gun. Merry Christmas.

I think you have to have someone to blame or you'll go completely fucking nuts. I don't even pretend to know how I would react if something like that happened to one of my kids. I would have to be locked away. I CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE. Seriously my worst nightmare. And it could happen to anyone at any second. Terrifying.

The death that struck me most wasn't particularly brutal or anything, but his last facebook post really struck me. Mark Lavoie and his wife, Katherine.

Oh crap, that horrified me. I felt physically sick when I read about Tim McLean and how random and violent it was.
I don't want to be in a situation where I am in close proximity to strangers with no easy escape because of damn Vince Li.

    Was Tim a juggalo?

ETA oh my god I just googled tim because I forgot what he looked like and I saw what I had only imagined in my nighmares. I didn't know they had released crime scene photos. Fk.

ETA again. I just read some of the MDS thread on this death and the pictures are not of him. Thank goodness. Sorry for editing so much in this post, Im boring myself now.

Shit Boston, you reminded me. Interesting I didn't even think of these when I read the question but this first one had a huge effect on the last nasty rel'ship I had because I literally saw Jean Lennon's execution - me & about 1000 other public servants who looked out our windows when the screaming started. He aimed at each breast then her pelvis then shot her in the head where she lay. It happened on a normal boring day outside the normal boring govt offices where I worked, across the courtyard from Parramatta Family Court.

Most witnesses were on upper floors, but we were on the groundfloor in an extremely unpopular govt dept & for the first hour it was pretty awful. We didn't know if he'd targeted her specifically or was a disgruntled customer of ours who was going vto keep picking people off so I had to jump the counter & run out & get a couple of big guys to help me manually lock all our heavy glass doors. & then we were basically stuck in a glass fishbowl with a gunman somewhere outside & people vomiting & crying & screaming waiting for either the next shot or the police to tell us it was all clear. Eventually officers came & escorted us through a labyrinth of concrete corridors I didn't know existed & deposited us all at the Woolpack Hotel.

When I had to get my kids & I away from my ex a decade later, Jean was on my mind everyday, reminding me to tread with caution & never let my guard down. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but I'm still here & there were times I really thought I might not be.

& I've mentioned this vaguely a few times but I've never made a thread because she's a relative. Our family's pretty big & quite a few branches are kind of estranged I guess, but Rachelle is loved by people I love. I hadn't met her, but I was about to because she'd just moved to the tiny town nearest mine & got in touch with the aunts/uncles/cousins I grew up with. Then this happened.

Her case is still unsolved but most people think it was her boss. There were a whole bunch of rumours when it happened that she was involved with the Rebels M.C & doing dodgy things but eventually people realised all the stories had started with her boss - & they were all bullshit. From memory, he'd also changed his name to hide a sexual assault history. & then there was this

    http://www.news.com.au/national/murd...-1111112724666

& really weird, Rachelle's body was found metres from where this girl's body was eventually discovered in the bush on the NSW South Coast about 40 mins from where I live now

Mine is my friend David Kinkley who committed suicide by train. He was suppose com to my house and we were going to eat shrooms together I thought he flaked I didn't find out what happened till the next day school. These guys that I knew but didnt like beat him up and stole his money a few weeks earlier and afterwards started threatening to kill his family if he went to the cops. His mother ended up going on Oprah to talk about bullying. His funereal was the biggest I have ever been to, I think literally every student from both the major high schools showed up.

Did they do toxicology on him did he take the shrooms before he got to your house? I have never had a bad trip on shrooms they say it brings out whatever inner person you are well I'm a geek so it was cool but my ex scared the shit out of me.

He kept saying he had no gnome hands he kept trying to hide them from me And he wanted go outside beyond the bushes and at one point he Was in the knife drawer and I was starting to get really scared... But then he projectile vomited all of the place and he seem to be better. I have no doubt if I had let him out of the house and he had gone beyond the bushes he would have walked right into the street and been hit.

I have never heard of shrooms "bringing out the inner person in you". I have done it a few times in the past, and all that happened was I saw weird shit. And when it was fading away after a while, everything I looked at, looked like it was "breathing', so freaky. Like a towel, would move out, then in, then out, etc. So frickin weird.

What I was told Before I took them was if you're happy person that make you happy if you're depressed person though make you kind of emo etc. but not violent just kind of eeyore. I don't really have any fears because I know I'm very lighthearted and I spent the whole time watching Moulin Rouge and dance with my cat. But my boyfriend at the time he'd always kind of been secretive and he was just really paranoid the whole time and it grew and grew and grew to like epic conspiracy theory magnitude... Only the conspiracy was that he was some gnome was really weird

This one happened when my youngest daughter was still in high school. Her and the kid named Daniel, that died, had been crushing on each other that year. I passed it on the way home from work. It was awful. What struck me the most was with my windows rolled up, the sirens blasting and blaring, I could hear this woman screaming over all the noise. I could still hear her screams when I got to my house 1/2 a mile up the road. It was the girl's mother I was told later by a friend who's husband was a volunteer firefighter on the scene. The mom ended up dying the next day. She was so distraught over her daughter that someone gave her a sedative. It interacted with her blood pressure medicine and she was found dead the next morning. She and her daughter were buried together.

Another one that has haunted me for years, was seeing what was left of the sweetest guy splattered all over his house. I went to school with him from 1st grade on. All through school we would always end up sitting next to each other. In biology he would do my dissections that I was too lame to do. He would help me if I didn't do my homework.

I saw him 2 weeks before he killed himself with a thirty-aught-six. He was so drunk at this little dive bar where we would go hang out. I hadn't seen him in 15 years. He was so happy to see me and another friend that we went to school with. He kept wanting us to dance and stay and talk. He was going through a horrible divorce and was heartbroken about not being with his little boy. Me and my other friend talked on the way home that night about how sad he was and he was trying to drown his pain.

Two weeks later when I heard the call over my radio unit I knew it was him. The address was one street over from the house I grew up in. Even though I was with humane investigations I was told to come for back up on traffic control.

I still have nightmares about that scene. The blast from the thirty-aught-six and the ceiling fans being on bounced pieces of him all over the house. I never walked to the bedroom where his body was. I just remember seeing his top lip with the moustache still attached laying on the floor in the hall.

I had finally had my fill of WLPD and was burned the hell out. I resigned my position the next week. The whole deal drove me nuts with what ifs.

I had heard that this guy's dad had blamed himself. He had called his dad and told him he really needed to come over. His dad had stopped and talked for a few minutes with a neighbor as he was getting in his car. He had no idea what his son had meant to do. He only stopped for 5 minutes. I just heard from back home about 6 months ago that this guy's now grown son had killed himself too.
