    Re: Wii thread

I bought my Wii back in September and I hardly play it, but when I do it's a ton of fun. When I play video games I usually game on the computer (me and PCP play a lot of BF2). The Wii was cheap, and great for drunken hang outs at the house.

I don't have any kids, but if I did I'm sure they'd love it. Anyone have Guitar Hero 3? I'm going to buy it tomorrow if I can find it anywhere. It's like 90 bucks on Wii

    its me.

another good game for kids is boogie. My kids love it and it is very funny listening to them sing songs like Karma Chameleon and Kung Fu fighting.

I love some of the ones on the Wii contest channel. There was an awesome Michael Jackson one.
We were guessing who they were.

I can't wait for him to open TOB on xmas day.
New release games ( actually, most games ) over here are pretty expensive. It was £45.00 in Gamestation where I bought it, though I did see it in Game for fifty quid.

I'm watching for one for my mother.  Her Dr and PT think its a great idea as she used to love bowling, but can't handle the heavy ball anymore. It was going to be a Christmas Gift, but not gonna pay twice the listed price for one.  Maybe we can get our hands on one for mothers day..

Anyhow, other than the standard bowing game what's good for a 70 year old?

Yep, that's how we got ours, and how my bro-in-law got one, too. I think a few pages back I explained how to do it. Sign online midnight on Saturday night. Search the Target/Walmart/Best Buyads. If any of them list a Wii, by law they have to have at least a minimal quantity available in stock. Head to the store that has the Wii in the ad, be there early, at least 30 minutes before doors open to wait in line. Word of advice, get a coffee and wear gloves in case it's early and freezing. If it doesn't work the first weekend, just keep trying, you'll get one eventually.

Also, maybe grandma would like the Wii Table Tennis game?
Anyone know when WiiFit is coming out? Or did it come out and I just missed it in our XBox 360 haze? I thought they initially said by Christmas? That'd be a good grandma gift, hell even one of the ads says "And what WiiFit Grandma wouldn’t be stylish without one of these at the nursing home?"
With all this talk of thinking outside the box, I am beginning to wonder what's left inside the box. -Me

All the game shops are around the same price. PS3 and 360 are the most expensive.

    Re: Wii thread

I was fortunate and bought mine earlier this year.. But today on lunch I hauled ass to buy Guitar Hero 3. I have been calling for about 2 weeks and looking online and no one has them. I sure wish I would have bought 4 or 5 Wiis back when they had them in stock and sold them right now on craiglist for 500 bucks a peice like everyone else is :)

By the way, if you guys have one lets trade friend ID's for the Wii :) I just learned how to do this and am waiting to play someone online :)

If I remember correctly, when I added Chris and Lexa I named them Chris and Lexa.
It didn't automatically give me a name, I chose one.

    I think.

I'm learning too! I've learnt a lot by just fucking around on it.
We're having a Wii sports competition on xmas morning with some of our friends.
    Alcohol will be involved.  :2smiley:

I haven't got any online games yet, but I'm hoping for Pokemon. ( yes, I am 31    ) and I might have a lookie at some other online games too.

    :2smiley:

Nice talking to you, this thread is one of my faves, along with the happy drunk thread as I am usually pissed out of my face on a weekend.  :-D

I don't have any online games yet.  Super Smash Bros Brawl will probably be my first online wii game followed by Mario Kart.  This past year I've played and beaten Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy.  I've had lots of free time cause there are a bunch of 360 games I've beaten as well.

[/quote]The Wii really doesn't have a huge online community.  I think if I was going to get an online game I would check out Battalion Wars 2.  Otherwise wait 2 months for Brawl.  Oh and look up a game called No More Heroes.  It looks rather interesting.
