Aw poor stoned dog. Even though it's a completely different high he reminds me of the time when my husband and I were first dating. I was doing work on the computer and he was watching tv and had a stack of chocolate chip cookies that I just baked on his chest. At one point I looked over and he had a cookie in his hand lying down and my dog was sitting next to him staring. I thought he was awake so went back to my work. The next thing I heard was my future husband say in the fly voice, help me. I looked over and my dog was all fluffed out twice his size with his teeth bared looming over him. He had eaten the stack of cookies off his chest and was in a chocolate psychosis. I had to go over and get him off of my soon to be and keep them apart for about six hours until he came down. My doggie was 85 lbs and would crack golf balls in half just playing. Husband has been paranoid about the dogs getting near chocolate ever since.
I live in fear quite often that my dogs are going to get into something when I am at work. It's a ritual now to walk through the house before leaving putting things up high, blocking doors, hiding shoes.
Chocolate in the house is like asking for trouble, we have to keep anything chocolate on top of the fridge. It has to be some type of doggy crack. Since the peanut butter incident where I had to pry jaws off of heads, I am all crazy on them now.

Alaska dog honored for leading troopers to fire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km35okas1Qo
ANCHORAGE, Alaska —
Buddy the German shepherd was hailed Friday as a hero for guiding Alaska State Troopers through winding back roads to a fire at his owners' workshop.
"Buddy's pluckiness is a bright spot among an otherwise tragic event for the Heinrichs family," Col. Audie Holloway, head of the troopers, said in a statement.
The dog, whose good deed was caught on a patrol car's dashcam video, received a stainless steel dog bowl engraved with words of appreciation from troopers for his "diligence and assistance."
The dashcam video shows Buddy meeting the trooper's vehicle, then dashing to the Caswell Lakes property on April 4.
According to troopers, the dog and owner Ben Heinrichs were in a detached workshop when a heater ignited chemicals. The 23-year-old man ran outside to put out the flames, closing the door to keep the blaze from spreading.
Heinrichs then realized Buddy was still inside the burning building and let the dog out, but suffered minor burns on his face and second-degree burns on his hand. Buddy was not injured.
"Buddy, we need to get help," Heinrichs told the dog, who then ran into the nearby woods and onto Caswell Loop Road.
That's where Buddy encountered the trooper, Terrence Shanigan, whose global positioning device had failed while responding to a call about the fire. He was working with dispatchers to find the property in an area with about 75 miles of back roads.
Troopers said Shanigan was about to make a wrong turn at an intersection when his vehicle lights caught Buddy. The dog eyed the trooper and began running down a side road.
The video shows Buddy occasionally looking back at the patrol car as he raced ahead, galloping around three turns before arriving in front of the blaze, which was very close to the Heinrichs' home. What came next was not caught on the video, but troopers said Buddy jumped up and down and nudged Shanigan as he approached the workshop, then darted into the woods.
From there, the trooper guided firefighters to the scene.
The workshop was destroyed and a shed was heavily damaged, but only some window trim on the house was scorched.

Dogs are so smart. I love my dogs. They would totally get me help.

I doubt my dog's abilities to do more than use my body as a step to get to their food.
We were on our way to do the switch off which takes 4 hours minimum because the bf's son lives far, and 2 hours into it the bf says, "Oh, I left the stove on boiling the beans, on high."
Luckily I called a near by friend who was able to run over to the house, break in and turn off the billowing pot. The entire house was filled with smoke. My friend said out of all the 3 dogs, only my weimer-pitter was running around trying to figure out what the hell was going on. My friend said he hopped the fence and my dog was like, "wtf, get in there fool!"
The other two? They were like, mehh... whatevs.
