Special sections for people outside of the USA?!

I searched for a topic like this, but I couldn't find anything, so I'm posting this now. What I'm asking myself is, wouldn't it be possible to make a special section for people's deaths outside of the USA? E. g. I got a friend who died more than two years ago, but he's from Germany ... As far as I see, there's no place for him here.

Second thing I noticed: Why does Mydeathspace say "invalid name" when I type in something with an umlaut? There ARE umlauts, even though you can't spell it!

I am guessing for the same reason when I am on a German site it doesn't fully comprehend what I am trying to type.  Why can't you just use the vowel sound letter that you need?

You can submit someone from another country.  Are you referring to the map?

I think the map includes people out of usa as thats kinda how i started using this site. Don't think i have looked at the map for over 3 years now, might go take a peak!

You can submit your friend. We often have international deaths.

Regarding the umlaut... I have no idea, but I know that not all browsers support umlauts.

Ahhh, okay, I see! Sorry, I totally ignored the map, don't know why. Maybe because it's such a small word.  :-D I'll try it out later!

The dots and the 'o' were closer together in where I typed than when it posted  :x  But you get what I mean.

There is the German name "Jörg". The "ö" is an umlaut. I typed it into Leo and it says that the English synonym for "Umlaut" is "umlaut", so I thought you'd all know what I'm talking about. ö, ä, ü --> umlauts.

I'm pretty sure, or let's say I hope, that she typed it wrong ... Otherwise her blood alcohol level would be beyond good and evil, I guess ...  :2upset:

[/quote]Those of us who took German in school have a nodding acquaintance with Herr Umlaut.  But it's not used in English so many American's, Ausies and Canadians have never met him.  I would imagine the Brits might have more exposure?

Isn't that an omelette that you don't quite know what's in it?
