Four teenagers charged with beating another teen

Cooperation between the Lexington Police Department and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of four teenagers charged with conspiring and committing assault with a deadly weapon.

According to a press release, Joshua Nunn, 19, of Tricia Court, Thomasville, reported to the Lexington Police Department that he was assaulted by four unknown people at Finch Park in Lexington on Thursday. However, an investigation by the Lexington Police Department found that the crime actually occurred on Dellwood Drive in Davidson County, and the sheriff’s office was notified.

Sheriff David Grice said the four suspects, all students at Central Davidson High School, lured Nunn to the dead-end roadway with the intention of assaulting him with their fists. Though he was not able to comment on a motive for the assault, Grice believes it was related to a domestic situation involving a boyfriend or girlfriend.

Following the incident, Nunn was transported to Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem where he was treated and admitted with potential life-threatening injuries to the head, the press release said. He remains a patient at Baptist and was listed in good condition Monday afternoon. as of 1:12 p.m. 06/08

Matthew Heath Tidwell, 18, of 122 Tripps Run, was arrested by Lexington Police and Davidson County sheriff’s detectives without incident Friday. He was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury and felony conspiracy to commit a felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.

Robert Pierce Everhart, 18, of 405 Kildee Drive, and Kyle Martin, 18, of 1238 Junior Order Home Road, turned themselves in to the sheriff’s office Friday. They were charged with felony aid and abet assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury and felony conspiracy to commit felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.

Mitchell William Young, 17, of 101 Park Lane, turned himself into the Davidson County Sheriffs Office on Saturday. He was charged with felony aid and abet felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury and felony conspiracy to commit felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.

All four suspects were placed in the Davidson County Detention Center under $250,000 secured bonds. They will appear in Lexington District Court on July 8.
