An 18-year-old was charged early today in the fatal shooting last month of another teen in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to police.Kiar Brown, 18, of the 800 block of West 50th Place, was charged with first degree murder in the slaying of Zachary Allmon, 19, of the 5300 block of South Bishop Street.

Allmon was walking north in the 5200 block of South Carpenter Street about 4:40 p.m. April 25 when a vehicle approached and a male of about 18 years old exited its front passenger side with a gun, according to a police news release from shortly after the shooting.

The gunman fired several shots at Allmon while chasing him on Carpenter, then returned to the vehicle that fled south, police said at the time.

Allmon, who was shot multiple times, was pronounced dead about 6:45 p.m. that day at the Cook County medical examiner's office. The vehicle was described as a blue or silver station wagon or mini-van with damage to the rear passenger window, according to the news release. Brown is expected to appear in court today at 2600 S. California Ave.

Kiar Brown is my baby brother and even though a life has been lost......... it was not by my brothers hand so all of you who who are making those judgmental comments I advise you think before you speak and know this if you are so tired of all the killing then then stop talking about it and do something about it... KIAR BROWN NOT GUILTY!!!!!!!!!!!
