Scratch the question in my post above. Also, paint the wall! there are some great treatments you can do. that's what I'm doing down here - haven't decided exactly what treatment I want to do but I'm dying to take a rag (or something) to these walls. hubby made me promise not to paint on this trip... he said we're here to relax.
shift key isn't working. i have no caps.

I'm looking at a couple of different painting techniques. One makes it look like leather and the other is a stripe.
I love my little knight too much to allow him to travel. :-(

THE COUCH IS MINE
and ds...where did you get the mini knight? jarrod wants one, and he doesnt want to wait for me to inherit yours...
You'd probably have to fight my grandson for it anyway. I got it from the same local furniture store. The brand on it was A-Z Pottery. When I google that I get Arizona Pottery, though, and I don't think that's it. :|

DS, your hardwood floors are beautiful! I'm jealous, I want wood floors so bad.
This is my dining room. The only room I feel is finished and looks nice. Everything else is still evolving.
Decorating is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I just figured if I bought stuff I like, it would all fit into place somehow. Instead it's all willy-nilly. Meh. :|
Thanks! I hope my dining room shelves look like yours one day. Mine are pretty empty except for some picture frames, all containing the pictures that came in them.
I also have willy-nilly syndrome. I feel like my stuff looks crappy because I don't know how to put stuff together nice. I also have a tendency to buy what I love regardless of whether it goes with other things. Like the knight which I love, but he has no business being in my house. :-(
DS, I love that couch. I want to sleep on it. When I move in can I claim it?
I took a nap on it today. It was great! You may claim it but you might have to share.
The fam hanging out on the new furniture.
The leather couch in the fireplace room. I'm not really into leather furniture that much but this is pretty awesome. And if it's true about those little circle things in pictures then my house is haunted.
That looks super comfy. Like sit-down-and-immediately-doze-off comfy.

Yup and it was only $199 I think. It's a great size, but not very comfy.

DS, I love love LOVE what you've done in your place. It's so gorgeous.
Tink, you should immediately go buy those curtains. They fit perfectly, how could you say no to that?
Kim, are you moving to Spain?

OMG, that couch looks like the most crazy comfy couch in the world! I miss my old sectional couch, we have beige leather chairs and a love seat now, which I don't love, cos they are cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

Not until we retire - four years, four months and 8 days. Then we'll split our time between Spain (fall/winter) and Scotland (spring/summer).
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.

Knight Hunt 2009....
I am headed off to work but I peeked on eBay really fast...
Umbrella stand knight - the base measures 16 1/2" wide X 12 1/4", and this stands 38 1/4" high and the drip bowl in the base is removable!!.
He kind of looks interesting.
AND ZOMG!!!! DS, Kim and Tink!!! I LOVE your decors!!! I am now jealousing.

Yeah, it's the Billy set. I love it, but you really have to anchor it to the wall, especially if you have carpet.

Hi guys
Thought I might as well join in here. We just bought our first house (got the keys on 10 feb) and we are in the middle of doing a pretty major renovation. The house is quite tiny but there is only two of us for now so we will survive. It's a 5 min walk to the beach. In about a year we are going to extend but for now we are just fixing up what is already there. I might need some opinions if anyone can help. I havent uploaded the weekend pics of us working on the house yet but I will do it tomorrow and post some.
Here are the before pics (the stuff in there is the previous owners - she was elderly and it was a deceased estate)
We are going to knock out the wall between the kitchen and the lounge and make it one big area
:D I love the furniture, very mid century! dig it! I hope you kept some of that stuff !lol
She is in the death queue.
You got me all wrong.
I'm so weird about decorating. When I was a kid, I'd paster my walls with magazine cut outs, as I got older I kept feeling like my style needed to change. I'm an adult now! My house has been slowly being decorated. For one my taste is too omuch $$ lol. and I don't have the knack to find it on the thrift.
And I get easily overwhelmed with all my options.
Plus I get bored so easily...
I've figured I like spanish style/middle century/mid evil..
that's insane...
I'll take photos of my dinning room, that's the most decorated place...

I want more pics of peoples places!
(see I like more than just kid pics!)
I don't sell crack, I'm a prostitute.

Riley in the threshold of the "new" living room
Starting to put the pics on the walls etc around xmas time
{ dont look at my mess!}
