GRESHAM, Ore. - An 88-year-old Gresham woman sent a man fleeing in pain after he entered her home naked and shoved her face into a chair early Tuesday morning.
She told police she reached behind her and grabbed the man by the groin, "giving him a good squeeze” until he “tore free and ran back out the way he had come in,” according to Deputy Paul McRedmond with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
The intruder apparently entered the home on SE 287th Avenue through an unlocked sliding door. The woman said he backed her into her living room in her bathrobe but never said a thing.
After the suspect fled, she called 9-1-1 and a Multnomah County Code Enforcement Officer who just happened to be in the area spotted two cars and jotted down their license numbers. Turns out, a man matching the description of the suspect was driving one of those cars and Troutdale officers pulled him over.
Michael G. Dick, 46, of Gresham, was arrested and booked on charges of burglary, harassment and private indecency. Police said other charges were pending. They had not yet determined was his exact motive was.
Bail was set at $110,000.
The victim was quite shaken up, but not injured, and said did not want her name released.
