Jim Nestor, a retired state trooper, said the couple was “definitely different,” also describing them as “loud” and “wild.” He also said he saw Raymond Seitz aboard later, holding a bag of quarters and explaining that he was head to the ship’s casino “to see if he could change his luck.”

haha you might be on to something there!

My husband and I do.

Actually, the running joke in our relationship is that I'm just biding my time for a few more years until I can off him for the insurance money without raising suspicion.

FYI, there is no insurance policy. Yet.

I've been on quite a few cruises and they are very safe. Whenever I'm near the railing I have this urge to jump. Not to kill myself but more for the "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" factor.

This article claims that her family thinks she committed suicide.

It also says that the video shows someone "falling," which to me makes it sound as though it's inconclusive as to whether she fell accidentally, on purpose by her own hand, or on purpose by someone else's hand.

She looks very pretty in the picture attached to this article.

RIP Jennifer

I am not buying into the whole "suicide" deal

It's obvious to me that the whole investigation on this was botched from the get go.

Coupled with the reports from the passengers in the cabin close to them saying that they heard yelling and "don't hit me" going on right before the time she went overboard, and then this from the article:

Raymond Seitz was arrested in April on a charge of domestic violence-battery after being accused of head-butting his wife. The charge was dropped after he entered a pretrial diversion program. Records show that she asked the prosecutor not to pursue the case.

tends to make me think differently.

Yeah, not sure I buy it either.

The quotes from the family in the article I posted were weird. They were like, "Well, she had some emotional problems a few years ago. But she was really happy now, upbeat both before and during the cruise, and looking forward to starting a new job when she got back. However, we think she killed herself."

Huh? Usually families cite "he/she was really happy and upbeat" as a reason they think a person didn't commit suicide. Just struck me as odd.

Exactly.

"Emotional problems a few years ago" + "really happy now", "looking forward to a new job" does not equal "suicidal thoughts" to me. Of course, people with suicidal tendencies do tend put on a facade most of the time; but I just have a gut feeling about this one.

Apparently after she was meant to have fallen overboard, the husband went to the casino and spoke to someone there about 'changing his luck'

Pic of the husband

Polk County records show her husband was arrested earlier this year on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery for striking his wife. Seitz told a Polk sheriff's deputy that her husband grabbed her by the wrist and head-butted her on April 18, according to a report released Monday. The charge was dropped in June after he completed a diversionary program, according to court records. They also show that she asked the prosecutor not to pursue the case.

Could that even explain it? I've never been on a cruise ship. I would like to think they have 6 foot fences all around but I'm guessing they don't, huh?

You can if you're completely hammered and decide to play, "Let's get a better look at the ocean!" I've mostly been on Norwegian and their railings weren't that high. Plus, if you're in a room with a balcony the railing is up to your chest (I'm short, too).

Not saying he possibly didn't throw her off but there are other possibilities.

sorry. you can NOT accidentally fall off a cruise ship. you either jump. or you are thrown off.

playing something like "Let's get a better look at the ocean" is not an accident. thats purposely done. if someone wants to climb onto something and falls, its not an accident. you purposely climbed. the result of death would be a direct result of climbing, and climbing is never accidentaly done.

I agree!
I am wondering if they are investigating any other surveillance cameras to see where her husband was between 8pm and 8:10pm that evening. To me, that would be the ONLY thing that would completely clear him of any wrong doing.

not so fast.

its possible that no one really knows what happened. if she jumped, only she knows. if he threw her off, the two of them would know. if he threw her and it was caught on camera, then....thats a dif story.

even if, he was seen on camera in the casino, doesnt clear him. they need to investigate, completely. there's always a chance he told someone else to throw her off while he was gambling. or, someone could have tossed her while her husband was gambling. too many variables. only good detective work will solve this.

i have read where ppl are shocked that many hrs passed between the time she disappeared and the time he notified that he couldnt find her. theres nothing shocking or suprising about that. nothing at all.
