Thanks! One good thing happened. The puppy got adopted last week!! YAY! She went to a really awesome home too. They have an older Catahoula and the two dogs instantly clicked. It made me so happy!! She was such a good puppy and deserved this! I shall miss her though!

Emmie (now Darla) Isn't she freaking adorable?!

I am happy that Darla has found a home. She looks like she is going to be a big dog.

She is going to get between 40-60 pounds. That is the average weight for a female Catahoula Leopard Dog.

and where does your grandmother live

We are seriously looking for a good home for this adorable little piece of alpha male shit
[/quote]

In Ponte Vedra Beach,FL. She has alway had corgis for as long as I have been a live and when they passed away, they were fat and happy. The one she had when I was born was named Princess and she lived to be 18. Then, she rescued one that someone had ran over and. She was around eight or nine when she got her and she lived to be 16. She also had another with her that she got as a puppy and she just recently had to put her down. She was very sad. She was about 16 too.

Nope There are Hedgehogs all over.

Roxie was raised on an outpost I was stationed at. No bases just a few soldiers literally in the middle of nowhere. When it came time to move back to base we knew we couldn't take her with us, but we got a officer to say it was O.K. that pic of her in the Humvee is us on our way back to base.

as soon as we got back to base Roxie was shot and killed. No Dogs are allowed on base because the tend to start eating the bodies of the dead that have no where to be buried. and if she was just released the same would happen off base

I don't know who exactly pulled the trigger and I never want to know. But she was never even suppose to be. She was left for dead when we found her as a puppy and suffered Parvo, which we thought she would never make it through and she did. She was such a lifesaver. She could hear if someone was approaching 100's of yards out in the dark. One guy was taking a leak outside when he heard roxy barking at his feet. He looked down and immedietly pulled out his 9mm and fired. Roxy had saved him from a Viper, A very poisonous snake

I miss that dog

<sniffle sniffle> I am sorry. They sure leave paw prints on our hearts don't they?

She had happy times with you guys at the outpost that she NEVER would have had otherwise. She was a gift to you when you guys needed the super sensitive dog ears as well as the morale boost a pet brings. You guys gave a gift to her of extra quality days of her life spent with people who loved her.

You and April and Caroline can rescue another "Roxie" once you get home.

Is it custom to kill dogs over there because they won't survive?
I am only asking because it reminds me of the controversy when we saw the video of the marine throwing the puppy over a cliff.
I would hate to know that dogs are killed all the time, but I guess it might be better than them starving to their death.

Yellowcake, that is one of the saddest things I've heard lately. But like Nestle said, you guys gave her a life she wouldn't have had otherwise and you showed her love. She clearly loved you guys too. I'm sure the time she spent with you was the best time of her life.

I stopped by PetSmart yesterday to pick up more bedding for my rats. I looked at the small mammals because it's fun, and I saw this beautiful blue girl rattie. I was naughty and got her. I named her Lucie. I think she's 4-5 months old.

I now have eight rats. I'm a rat lady alright. Lucie gave me some kisses this evening :-D

Henriette's babies are now almost 3 months old. I have the five daughters. The five sons were adopted out to nice humans. Hen, Remy (dad, now neutered) and the daughters all snuggle up in the hammock and create a warm giant loves pile.
Lucie, I'm told, is a mismarked berkshire who may be a pearl "a light to medium silver color with cream intermixed, hairs are often tipped with grey."
She was classified as a blue at PetSmart. Whatver she is, she is gorgeous.
I got my first licky kiss from her this evening. :-)
I heart the smudge on her face.
