I'm going to go try to get my license right now and if I fail it I am pretty sure the nervous breakdown that's been sitting in my brain lately will come out in full force at the DMV.

How are you going to get there? You're not driving without a license are you?
And affirmative action is a very nice term for racial discrimination against better-qualified white people in jobs, employment, promotions and scholarships, and college admittance.

I waited there for an hour and then the super rude lady told me I need a birth certificate or passport. Apparently it's much more of a privilege to drive in CA than Illinois. And now they are mowing the lawn outside so I can't fucking read the massive amount of shit I have to read for Wednesday. This day is fucked.

I'm one of those people that go over-prepared to do shit like that cause I hate to make several trips.
I practically take my Social, passport, and 2 other forms of ID when I go to buy milk.

I have opened bank accounts only because the bank wouldn't cash my check without an account there.

"Sir, I can't cash this if you don't have an account here."

"Then I'd like to open an account."

"Well you can't start an account if you're only doing it to cash your check. And you need 2 forms of ID and your social."

"Here you go. And that's not the only reason. Heh." :-D

They always look SO fuckin mad.

Just a bit annoyed.  :x

A girl that I used to work with was best friends with my husbands ex.  Now that the ex has died she's trying to be all buddy buddy with me and she's fucking annoying me.

There was one email, i think I deleted it on accident, on how she needs us now more than anything.  Uhm, ok.. if we were such cool peoples why the fuck did you wait til AFTER the cunt died to start talking to us?

If you have a dl in Illinois why do you need to get one in California?  As a student your place of residence doesn't change like it would if you just moved there.
Oh, but it does. It says in the stupid brochure I got. And even if it didn't, I'm changing the title of my car from my mom to me, and she won't send it out until I get a CA license. She thinks Los Angeles is full of muggers and people who will break her car.

Uhhhhhhh, my boyfriend got a prescription for Lexapro (his mom just died and he's a wreck, and I seriously think he needs something like this to help him through hard times /disclaimer).  I have him on my insurance as a domestic partner, it's awesome insurance, like literally, we pay squat.  Well, he goes to get it filled for a month, and it was $93 .  I was shocked.  For my thyroid it's like $8 for a month and a half, b.c. is $10, I couldn't believe it was that much.  Anyone else on that, and why the hell is it so much with great insurance?

I can't believe you can have a hetero partner as a domestic partner on your insurance.  That. Is. AMAZING.

it might be because its a brand name drug.  the patent on lexapro doesnt run out until 2012 i think, so theres no generic version available.

Definitely, the qualifications for the domestic partnership are pretty minimal too.  It's Abbott Laboratories, they were one of the first companies who requested that domestic partnerships be honored for benefits.  It's great.

Crap!  He said he's going to call the dr. tomorrow and see if there's something comparable with a generic.  That's nuts!

I was seriously floored.

I know there are a lot of people who take it, for various reasons, and I find it hard to believe that they all pay that much.

Are you paying resident tuition?

New Residents
When you become a resident and you want to drive in California, you must apply for a California driver license within 10 days.
Residency is established by: voting in California elections; paying resident
tuition at a California college or university; filing for a home owner’s
property tax exemption; obtaining a license; or receiving any other privilege or benefit not ordinarily extended to nonresidents.
But I suppose if your Mom insists. :)
Well, I go to private school, so no, but since I have to get new plates on my car, I have to get licensed here. It's fine, I'm just really frustrated. I waited there FOREVER today.

Again, if your out of state plates are current, you don't need Ca. plates as a student.

In California, the plates stay with the car.  It was the weirdest thing I ever saw.

Cant you give your mom power of attorney for the bmv and have her transfer all your shit in your hometown and then overnight you plates? They have a form to fill out at the bmv (my dad and brothers are really lazy and make my mom do EVERYTHING for them).
