What should we do? We just replaced the mailbox when it got completely knocked over.

Also back story time: A couple months ago my son was going to run into the street so I screamed at him and he threw himself on the ground and started crying. One of the trump flag neighbor's yelled at me and told me to take it easy on my kid. I barely ever yell at my kid (hence him reacting the way he did-he hates getting yelled at-but I didn't touch him) there was a damn car coming and he could have gotten hit, so yeah I'm going to yell. She made me feel like a terrible parent.
    Call the cops.

Today, my husband (holding my son) and I were standing in a restaurant parking lot waiting for our order. This couple came out of the restaurant and the wife made a beeline towards my child. She started talking to him then grabbed his hand. Yup. I was not happy. I grabbed a wet wipe and cleaned his hand.

If my husband had let me feed my child like I tried to do instead of saying he just wanted fresh air, that woman would've never had a chance to touch my baby, and he wouldn't have been crying all the way home.

What is wrong with people? Even if we weren't in a pandemic you don't go up and touch a strangers kid. Especially not on the hands because they put their hands in their mouth.

I saw a Facebook post from a friend saying please don't touch my baby, especially on her hands. People were rude in the comments, but she was just being careful.

When Austin was in the NICU a person I barely knew (not a nurse or doctor) got really close to his face and kissed him on the lips. I almost throat punched her. It took everything in me not to yell at her. I didn't even kiss him on the lips because germs and he's a susceptible premie. I'm very non confrontational so I drug my husband in the breast feeding room and told him to tell her to cut it out. I had to stay in there to gather myself.

I'm sorry that happened to your child.
I don't know if you heard this story, but I had a nurse kiss my child right after she changed his diaper (right after I had given birth). I appreciated that she didn't make the parents change it like most of the other nurses, but I was upset that she kissed him during flu season. I wasn't going to say anything, but a nurse supervisor asked me about my stay so I told her. Also, she let me fall in the bathroom so I had no problems tattling.

I also hate when people touch his feet, because my baby touches his feet, and it's another way of transferring unwanted germs.

I'm surprised a Nurse would do that. You would think they would be more professional. I'm sorry you fell in the bathroom, hopefully you weren't hurt too bad.

That is true about the feet, I didn't think about that.

Stoopid cow. Who touches a strangers baby, especially during a pandemic!

So, my sister in law just pm'd me. Her Mom passed out and they took her to the hospital. They decided that she'd had a brain bleed and there's nothing they want to do for her. (She's quite and old lady, in poor health before this) They said there's no room in the hospital and no room in the hospice associated with the hospital, so they've sent her home for her family to try to "do" for her while she dies. Garg. We treat stray dogs better.

Oh Puzz, that's awful. I saw a headline today that the Dakotas were getting hit the worst right now out of all the states. I wish people would have learned from this summer, but nope, here we go again. Remember how they went nuts over the idea of granny death squads when Obamacare came out? And now we really have set ourselves up in a situation where we're having to let our elderly die in bad situations to make room for more treatable patients. Very sad.

What about home health nurses or home health hospice nurses? Regular people dont know how to deal with palliative care! Thats so sad. I feel so bad for her and her family.

I should add I read a lot of doctors, specialists, nurses, etc are getting sick or burnt out. Maybe the homecare ones are too.

Yes and still there are people who think it's a hoax or terribly overblown. We have a nursing home here where every single resident and 1/2 of the staff are sick. They've already lost 6 or 7 residents. It's just a horror show.

They live in the country, so it's hard to get home health at the best of times. I guess they have a hospice person who's available virtually, and my nephew does have some emt training, but it's not what anyone would want, for sure.

People need to pick up after their animals!
I found a big pile of poo right next to my trash cans. My trash cans are nowhere near the road. They were by the side of my house. If it was nighttime when I took out the trash, my shoes probably would've stepped in it.
My husband did step into a pile by the road.
I'm tempted to ask the property managers if they can find out who's not picking up their dog's poo so I can dump the poo on their porch.

We always pick up after our dog. What drives me nuts is when I find cat shit in my backyard, from all the cats people let roam around. Ugh.

I have dogs, and people that don't pick up after their dogs piss me off!

You aren't that super far from me, and we also get racoon and bear near our house sometimes. Could it be that? Even when we lived in a very civilized and suburban neighborhood, not just out in the country like now, we would find it near the house sometimes. Especially since it's near the trash, it makes me wonder about that.

Don't advertise that you provide a service if you don't really provide a service. I drove all the way to a shop to check on service for my jetski, and they told me that despite their sign saying "we service motorcycles, ATV's and jetskis", they don't really service jetskis. Assholes!

These were definitely dog poop. They were big. My husband said this girl (who walks her dog around the neighborhood) that usually says hi, didn't say hi to him. Guilty conscience, perhaps?

I wonder if you could take them to court for false advertising?

It's not that big a deal. It just irritated me. I don't get out much right now, and I made a special trip to go see these people...and for nothing.

I knew it was going to happen. We're at my husband's stupid family's Thanksgiving and I already have people coming up and touching my child. I don't care if they're family. I don't know where they've been. I'm so ready to get out of here!

I got sick last night. I don't know if it was food poisoning or stress, but it was not fun. I had a major headache from wearing a mask around all my husband's idiot relatives that weren't wearing one. They were also all touchy feely with each other and trying to hug me. I really hope they all get sick.
My husband was also trying to gaslight me by telling me the things he said and did were all in my head. I know for a fact he promised me that we'd stay outside and no one would touch my child. That definitely didn't happen.
I'm so glad it's over and I don't have to see most of those idiots till next year.
They also had a toilet in their front yard. Very white trash.

So I guess the bear busting up the fence and letting them out gave my dogs a taste of freedom. My neighbor knocked on the door early this morning to tell me that she and the other neighbor think my dogs are out, but she couldn't get them to come to her. As we're talking she points toward my vehicle and I look and see a flash of red fur, and then nothing. I could not for the life of me figure out where it went (wasn't sure which one it was as I have 2 red dogs). I thank her and go in to put on shoes and get their leashes, and as I am warming up my car to go look for them my husband (who was in the middle of getting ready to go to work) comes running out to tell me that they are all in the backyard.

I know that the white one never got out, because she was barking at the neighbor while I was talking to her. The other two were in the backyard less than 5 minutes before the neighbor showed up, so they weren't out long. They came in totally out of breath, so I knew they had been out running. I got hubby off to work and then went to see if I could figure out how they are getting out. We have an acre, and it is extremely wooded and grown up on the perimeter of the property, because we wanted to keep it looking kind of natural. Well, these fools went to the side where we have no neighbors, and they dug under the fence. It took me a while to slog through the bushes and thorny vines, but it wasn't subtle and wasn't hard to see once I finally reached the area where it was. I have filled it with pavers and bricks for now, but I am so mad at them.

TL:DR: I have two Chows, slightly used, that you guys can have if you want bad digging out dogs. The one that didn't dig out can stay. Merry Christmas.

Damn they had to have dug deep to get out. I hadn't heard of chows being big diggers.

They're not usually. :usually: So after I finished filling the hole I found that the bear had actually broken the fence further down where I couldn't see it behind the trees. I am wondering if they are trying to dig out to get to the bear. They haven't tried to dig out before now.

Are they little black bears in your area or the big scary ones?

My neighbor two houses down from me that saw my dogs get out showed me their security camera footage of a bear sitting on their patio table last week. My guess was that it's about 400lbs. I'm pretty sure it's the bear that keeps breaking my fence. It looks like this: (and coincidentally that is kind of what the perimeter of my backyard looks like, but with way more pine trees)
