3 Arrested For Racist, Anti-Obama Graffiti On L.I.
MASTIC, N.Y. (AP) ― New York police have arrested three people accused of spray painting about 40 vehicles with racist graffiti, including messages targeting President-elect Barack Obama.
The incident occurred Nov. 12 in Mastic, Long Island, days after an Ecuadorean immigrant was fatally stabbed in a confrontation with seven teenagers in nearby Patchogue. One message read "kill Obama." Others made crude sexual references.
The suspects, Thomas Kujan, Fiore D'Angelo and Skylar Santiago, are residents of Shirley. They are charged with criminal mischief to vehicles, and are free on bail pending their arraignment. The Suffolk County district attorney's office says the names of their attorneys were not immediately on record.
