    COD5

Has anyone got this or played it yet? I'm debating whether to buy it for my OH for  his birthday. He's hammered COD4 for ages.

Just got it yesterday. Graphics are better and it's waaay bloodier but it's not as fun using older guns.
I just started the campaign, not sure how good the online is.

I'm gonna get this. Probably the only series of games I actually finish.

They need to do Vietnam though.

    What are they waiting for?
And affirmative action is a very nice term for racial discrimination against better-qualified white people in jobs, employment, promotions and scholarships, and college admittance.

I'm waiting for the one based on the War of 1812 or the French and Indian War.

Did you play that History Channel civil war game?

I made the mistake of buying that piece of shit a couple of years ago.

    Exactly.

Can you just imagine all the shit they can do with that and how different it would be?  They better get going. I'm writing to them.

I know, although in COD5 there have been a lot of jungle maps so far, so I don't know how different nam would be. Better guns for sure.

I was thinking about what they're going to do for 6. Apparently there is a rumour it might be sci fi which would be shit. I'm a huge Killzone fan so I think I'd rather play that.

Some sort of peace keeping type scenario would be good where you might play different soldiers in different war zones.

A friend of mine had that Civil War game, and I played it for about 5 minutes.  "piece of shit" is a good way to describe it!

The Japanese ambush you in the grass in COD5. The flamethrower is actually a lot more fun to use than I thought it would be... :-)

Some of the maps in BF Vietnam had the tunnel warfare. Others were city maps, others river maps. They had the hueys and the swift boats. It's still great MP action.

Yeah I'm with PCP.. COD4 is way too run and gun. We recently bought BF2142 - I have 8 BF games. Those are the shit.

    Exactly!

I bet they play like cheap bastards. Sit in some secret spot and snipe people all day and/or have Clays set up all around them so anyone who sneaks up gets blown to bits.

    Re: COD5

You guys are tards :P In COD games you have a specific area you can go or a certain mission you can do only.

In the Battlfield series, specifically BF2 and BF2142 it's insane. First off all your side has squads, squad leaders, and a commander. All of which tell the people in their squad or the commander what the directive is. In addition, you can go anywhere on the map you can see. The biggest and coolest thing is the ability to fly/drive/ride in vehicles. In BF2, there are Attack Choppers, Transport Choppers, three types of Jets.. and they seat multiple people. It's like an actual battle going down with tons of tanks/jeeps/AAs/APCs/infantry/people on tow missles/artillery (the commander drops).

It's just pretty wicked, I highly suggest buying BF2 - it's only like $9.99 at Best Buy right now. I'm just getting into 2142 but it seems pretty amazing too.

COD4 is cool graphically, the single player is nice - but I don't buy games for single player. I want 64 people on one server blasting each others asses from the water, land, and air man.

Hi mate ! Can you let me know how it's going as you get further into it. I prefer to hear about it from someone who I "know" who's playing it. He's umming and aaahing about it but I think he secretly is lusting after it.

He's going to be pissed when I tell him you have it.

No, we NEVER snipe and I'm always in the action.  I'm always ground pounding, usually driving in a dune buggy, my guys squad up on me, I can travel with three guys. The maps are big but there are plenty of vehicles so you don't have to walk everywhere. maps are 64 player, 32 on a side. We get to the objective, if we get pinned down, I call in Kejami for air support. he's a BAD ASS chopper pilot. He cleans the enemy out, we take the flag, straight to the next one.  Everyone in the squad can talk through either Ventrillo or the built in VOIP in the game. We work together. We might have one guy as a medic, one guy on the AA guns, another in an Abrams tank, all working together, covering each other and making it happen.  What I dig is the team work, which you just don't get in COD MP. As a squad leader your team can spawn on you, so it's easy to keep the squad together...that is if the Squad leader can survive. I keep trying other games but nothing compares. I don't like to have to go dow certain alley ways with everyone running, preying and spraying. If there were severs (and I've heard there were...) where players work together to take objectives on COD4 or  5 I'd be in.

My favorite ride...it's FAST, no armor but I'm an impatient SOB. Fuck the humvees, APCs and tanks. I'm on the flag first bitches.

mike, whats your gamertag? [EDIT: prolly not a good idea to post my tag]  Maybe, you "wanna be friends"

I really like COD5.  But i am an online games whore.  I played the shit out of COD4 online.  I like this one because of the maps and the better graphics.  I like the fact that they changed it up enough that its like a new game yet still has all the same things that made COD4 cool.
I like that you can seriously get blown up in half and that you can call in dogs - i find it hilarious.
I also like that the weapons and their features are true to era.

I do admit that its more for fun than strategy like the games that kejami described.

On a side note, i had two students talking about details about COD5 today in class and i said "stop talking about COD5 and pay attention"  - they nearly fell over "You play??! you play...nahhhh you dont play??"
    hahahahah i love it.
