James Millican (21)Sentenced for driving with bicyclist clinging to his hood DWI

PORTLAND - A judge on Monday sentenced a drunk driver who drove around with a bicyclist hanging onto the hood of his car.

The incident was caught on camera in July.

James Millican, 21, sped down SE 58th Avenue with Jason Rehnberg clinging to his hood.

Millican faced three counts, including unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault in the second degree and DUI.

In court, Millican told Judge Edward Jones he had been drinking and when a bicyclist called him a name, “he snapped.”

“I was on a short fuse. Him calling me an [expletive] broke the camel’s back,” he said.

Millican blew a .11 when administered a breathalyzer afterwards.

Rehnberg admitted he could have reacted differently.

“When you're out there on a bike, you're vulnerable. It’s hard not to react,” he said.

Jones sentenced Millican to 45 days in jail, three years of probation and 160 hours community service.

He’s already served 19 days in jail. Millican also faces a mental health evaluation, drug and alcohol abuse evaluation and an $800 fine he must pay Rehnberg due to lost work.

    hahahah what a loser!

I am sure he wouldn't have gotten off as easy had he been sober when it happened. He would have gotten the whole "mental health evaluation" but I am sure they took the fact that he wasn't thinking clearly into consideration. I dunno.
    Balls.
