"Read what people are saying" Section is too cluttered now.

Recently, there appears to have been a code change for the worse on the articles involving the "Read what people are saying about this article..." Section.

Previously, it gave a glimpse to the first post in the thread which was a nice teaser and utilized space appropriately:

Now, it shows countless responses, all in their own separate boxes, seemingly showing the most recent and, in often case, a comment that references a previous comment much further below it.  It's far too cluttered and needless.

If you wanted to show the entire thread, show it in one box with a scroll, somewhat like having the article page be the actual page and the referenced forum page being an inframe (though that idea went out with the 90s) and do the comments sequentially from first to last.  I would say that you were better off in the previous way but if you needed to change, this wasn't the right way to do it.

    Nice catch.  That is annoying.

I think it's kind of neato.

Really? I mean, then why not just have a split frame with the forum page?  Wouldn't that be better?  If you want to read the forum thread, you should go to the forum thread instead of having it be deluged on a page with no way to reply unless you go to the forum page anyway (a page that, in any case, displays the thread in a more organized and appealing manner).

I am very pro returning to the previous format.

I agree with Bigo...I liked the little teaser.  That is what got me to come to the message boards to begin with.  Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?  (Sorry had to use that saying in a random sort of way since it really doesn't fit the situation at all.)

I'm not fussed either way but the one issue I have is that it takes longer for the article page to load for me.  It pauses whilst it loads all of the posts

I prefer the old way as well.

J is working on updating something so we'll have to wait and see.

I only ever click on the articles from the posts discussing them, so it doesn't matter to me because I already read what people are saying.

    That looks very classy.
