Massapequa teen charged with speeding in stolen car, DWI
Alex S. Jacques was speeding, police said.
He was also drunk, police said.
After an investigation, Nassau County Police said they learned that the car Jacques was driving when he was stopped early Sunday morning in Massapequa was stolen from a home on Seaford Avenue.
Jacques, from Franklin Place in Massapequa, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, driving while intoxicated and multiple vehicle and traffic violations, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in First District Court, Hempstead.
Police said they stopped Jacques at 4:15 a.m. Sunday driving a 1991 Lexus at what they called "a high rate of speed" on Merrick Road near Oakley Avenue in Massapequa.
He was arrested, and police said they found later that the car had been stolen sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday morning.
