vintage gaming (i play old games)

so i've wanted to replay some older games that i have. one i never finished was silent hill 2. i busted that out recently and started playing. the game is still a ton of fun.

i'm thinking about playing legend of the dragoon for playstation (with the psx emulator on xbox).

i also wanted to play (since i never did) chrono trigger. i grabbed it, but then found out at 25th, they're coming out with the DS version.

finished final fantasy iii (ds) a while a go. i'm also gonna pickup final fantasy iv (ds). the comparison video is awesome http://ds.ign.com/dor/objects/905252/final-fantasy-iv/videos/ff4_intro_h2h.html

anybody else like playing old games? or have any good old games i should pickup and play?

One of the only reasons I'd buy a current Playstation would be to play some of my old PS1 favorites. I think they'd be a letdown though. Resident Evil 1 & 2 Metal Gear Solid Syphon Filter Twisted Metal 1 & 2

Get Mega Man 9 on either Xbox live, Playstation network, or Wii Virtual Channel. Wii would be the best preference. It will take you back to mind numbing frustration.

Hell when I think vintage gaming, I think about exploiting Pit Fall by playing the game backwards.

    I'm hella old.

i've seen metal gear solid on xbox live arcade too. didn't pick it up.

i did pickup worms though. unfortunately it's like worms lite. doesn't have all the features, but still just as fun.

Metal Gear Solid is probably one of my all time favorites on any platform.

I can second that. My brother and I would always play against each other for hours on end. And at that time there was no such thing as "Hot Pockets" we would buy hot tamales, and gobstoppers. That was our fuel.

Ahh. About as old-school as i got was Donkey Kong Country, Aladdin, Some looney tunes game, and Caesars palace on SNES. I was like 5 when we first got our SNES.. so that is old-school for me.

I may buy one on eBay just for nostalgia. I have a few games I played when i was younger, that i bought on the wii game channel thing. We had a dozen or so games at the old house, but they were in storage, and i think they got tossed when our house flooded in march.

I also had a nintendo 64. had probably 100 games. i had a beetle racing game..it's not listed on the wii games channel. i wish they did.

I've got both Ring of Fates and FF3. I'm pretty sure I'm at the end of FF3. I'm in the tower thingy. I really must complete them. I love the FF series on any console. FF7 on PS1 is one of my top games ever.
They're such good value for money. RPG is my fave genre.

Is FF4 on DS? I haven't seen it over here, maybe it's not out yet?

    :-)

    I'm going through IGN's top 100 games. http://top100.ign.com/2008/ign_top_game_100.html

They've got a pretty interesting list going on. I may end up picking up a few of these that I haven't played.

    Golden eye was N64.

It was like one of the first games to come with N64 and was always the best game they ever made. JMHO
