Play it in the dark.

Oh, and after you're done, if you want to sell it to me, that'd be cool.

The old Doom games.  Particularly Doom II.

Doom 3 strayed too far from the aesthetic and was a totally different game.  Did not like.

Doom and House of the Dead are not vintage.  Play some pacman, centipede, mario bros, galaga, pong.

I used to watch "Life Goes On".  Kellie Martin looked a lot like the girl I was dating at the time.
Exactly.  Real vintage games are the ones you have to play through in one sitting because there is no such thing as a save option.  And you may be stuck on the first two levels for hours.

Apparently I already mentioned Mega Man 9.  Though I can't mention it enough.
How about Altered Beast?  It was the first game I downloaded on the Wii.  It was also one of those things that you should remember and not try to relive.

I remember Altered Beast.  I dowloaded Golden Axe and Double Dragon to my 360.  It's weird how short those games are.
I think they made a new Golden Axe.  It must have sucked because I didn't hear much more about it other than its available.

Oh!  Battletoads!  and Battletoads and Double Dragon

I never actually played battletoads, but I used to see the ad for it constantly in the comic books I read when it first came out.

Ninja Gaiden for the Sega genesis was great, too.  The original series.

    I loved Gauntlet, too.

The Gauntlet games were pretty good up to Nintendo 64.

I used to have the hand-held LCD Shinobi game. I think Tiger Electronics made it.
:-o MULE rocks. We played it on the commie, and got an emulator and played a few months ago.
I don't remember if we ever had instructions either, come to think of it.
