yes va-gah. Being named after my mother caused the drama of having different names. Also she was conviced that I was a boy, so when I was born, she wasn't ready with a female name. She named me something stupid, so my dad changed it to her first name, and she still hasnt' forgived him for it. She wants to be the only 'illya" around.

It all sounds so very confusing. I imagine you were surprised when you found out that the name you were being called wasn't your "real" name?

See, I also wish I had a story behind my name, but I don't. My future children will probably think the same thing, and I will have nothing to tell them aside from "I liked the name."

I used to do gymnastics with this girl, and she introduced herself as Abs. I thought maybe she was an Abigail or something, so I asked her about it, and she was like "Well, my dad calls me tar-uh, and my mom calls me tear-uh, so I don't really know what my name is". :lol:

It was the first day of kinder, I think I even had to go to the office, cos they didn't call my name out, and I didn't understand why.  :lol:

That's when all the lies from my parents started to become clear. ;)

oh yeah and my middle name, the way my mom spelled it-- since she took it from a stranger, was spelled to  be pronounced a different way then the way my mom was calling me. I figured this out later as well.

Name Fits Personality?: I think so. There's other names I like more than my own, but for the most part it suits me. It's better than being named Edwina (my mom's friend suggested that name for me, blech)
