HTC Hero > all phones, IMO.

I just switched from iPhone 3Gs.

All the good apps I had for the iPhone are available for Android. That, coupled with the fact that Android's UI is customizable so my phone layout doesn't look like every other person's layout, is what makes Hero #1 to me. Performance-wise, the Hero performs as smooth as the 3Gs after the update I applied a couple weeks ago.

Last night I finally bit the bullet and got a new phone. I've had a T-Mobile Wing (same as HTC Herald) for like 18 months and it really needed to be replaced, but T-Mobile has had few phones that could sync with an Exchange server. Since I use my phone primarily for work, this is a must.

I was torn between the Touch Pro 2 and the new Motorola Cliq and decided to go with the Cliq. I figured if this didn't work for me, I'd know it within the 14 day return period and then change to the TP 2. The Cliq is smaller than the TP2 and it's $150 less, although there are known issues with battery life.

So far, I love it. I was able to sync with my Exchange server very easily, so this brought over my work emails, all of my contacts and my calendar. Really, anything beyond that is a bonus.

This phone is touted for social networking users. I'm not a big one -- I just use FB -- but I like that I have all of my contacts from FB on my phone, plus any contacts that were in my Exchange contact list could be linked to the FB contact. That's pretty cool for keeping everything in one place.

The one thing that I have to get used to is the capacitive touch screen -- I'm used to the Wing's resistive touch screen and they are really different. I used to use my fingernails to tap what I wanted, but that does not work with the Cliq.

Yeah, a couple days later and I'm madly in love! Even though my main concern was whether this phone would handle work stuff, I've found a bunch of widgets that keep my toddler entertained. It's already come in handy when we're out somewhere and he is bored.

Plus, I am blown away by the call quality -- it sounds as good as a land line phone.
