Can someone tell me what cool whip is and if there is a substitute for it? Found an awesome no bake cheesecake but we can't get cool whip here.
Cool whip is non dairy topping used like whipped cream. Can you get the envelopes of Dream Whip?
I can mail you Dream Whip.

When I was little I always ordered hit chocolate because of the whip cream.
I'm 36 and still do that.
That won't work in a no bake cheesecake.
Coolwhip is an oil-based whipped topping, so there's really no "substitute", other than store-brand knockoffs. Cool whip is the substitute for whipped cream, so that'd be like having a substitute for a substitute.
Dream whip will work, but you might be able to find something similar at your grocery store. Look in the frosting isle and see if there are boxed dry whipped toppings. You usually make it by mixing the dry stuff with hot water and whipping constantly till fluffy.
Would this work? http://ohsheglows.com/2012/08/30/coc...hoto-tutorial/
Dairy free friend does this - it would, of course, taste like coconut.

just make your own?
eta: i would use powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar though.
Thanks guys. I think this may be a sign that I am fat enough without cheesecake lol.
You're not supposed to mix or beat it anyway. If you fold it in, it should be ok.
Or you could try this, Olivia:

I made whipped topping the other day with heavy cream and brown sugar instead of white sugar. It was amaze balls. I almost licked the bowl.

Would you beleive this is a wedding cake?
Has anyone ever made a cake using ganache and fondant for frosting/icing?
attempting to make california rolls tonight with homemade japanese mayo. it's kind of strange to me that you can make your own mayo, but since the stores 'round her don't sell the japanese kind, i guess it's up to me.
i have never made rolls, but i've heard it's hard. no matter what they look like, they will still be yummy i hope!
making fucking mayonnaise is haaaaaaard. i failed the first time and my mom helped the second. it was made, but it tasted just like fucking best foods when all is said and done. maybe a little heavier and eggier.
now i'm waiting to put the rice on (after soaking it) and then i'mm make the filling after it's done so it can cool for a while. i hope this turns out good. if it does, i think i'll be eating various sushi rolls everyday for the rest of my life.
