Far more 'eloquent' than Nurmi for sure. She seems pretty agitated, probably been up all night prepping her base arguments, knowing they'd meet this opposition from Martinez.

You're right, though she looks annoyed pretty often imo. That's what should have happened, instead she allows him a few hours? That's pretty nonsensical. No presentation should be allowed in, the expert should testify from his expertise in this area, not a power point. Shoddy behaviour by the the DT.

Incidentally, I don't see Martinez being any more satisfied come the afternoon session. It could be a long, or very short, day ahead.

Wait until they get that Dr. that throws the chicken bones on the ground for a diagnosis. He'll have a Powerpoint of Tyson Cut-Up Chicken packaging to explain why Jodi carved up Travis

    She did. You're right.

Though the only mental condition I think she has is delusion.

So, the bathmat in front of the tub is another of Jodi's fogs, I guess.

    Good afternoon everyone! Trial's on!
    Since we're in recess -
I also saw that the doors to the linen closet, toilet closet and under the sink cabinet were all open. She said she got the cup from under the sink. Maybe the knife and gun were hidden in the linen closet. That box of copy paper would be a good place.
Also there were 3 tiny drops blood on the toilet There was blood everywhere, except the second sink and bathtub. I think that's where she cleaned up. Taking a shower with a dead body is too creepy to get my mind around.
Day 2 is in 2 parts, here is the link for part 1. All the photos are explained.

    Also:
One juror posed the question as to whether Jodi had ever sought treatment for her 'mental condition'.
The defendant looked confused before responding: ' I'm not sure what mental condition that refers to.'

That's what I was thinking. Even if the judge allows this stuff in, the "expert" will have an even more umm, "feisty" JM to deal with! hehe

While it is annoying that the Powerpoint presentation is being allowed in, I have faith in this jury (after hearing their questions to Stabby). This jury is not stupid, and surely they will see that quoting Time magazine articles is NOT the mark of a true professional. I think they will see this "expert" for what he truly is.

IMO everyone reacts differently to trauma. I am very sorry for everyone that has had to deal with something awful in their lives, but just because you experience it one way doesnt mean everyone else is going to experience it the same way. Without going into details, I have been through a very traumatic event. I was affected so badly that I was unable to talk to people, I couldnt leave my house for the last 5 years. I would break down and have a panic attack if someone so much as rang my doorbell. I would run and hide in the bathroom until I felt safe enough to come out. All I remember about the event that brought me to that was that my daughter was in danger. And one sentance she spoke to me. I dont remember confronting the guy, I dont remember confronting his family. I dont even remember going to the police, but it is all there in black and white. So I know I did. My point is you can not say just because your reacted a certain way that you know how everyone else is going to act.

Just adding this to the bottom cause I dont want nasty PMs or to be accused of believing JA's BS. She is full of shit and her "fog" is only a way to avoid testifying about the brutal murder. She has made that obvious in her answers, she only forgets stuff that suits her to be forgotten.
Awww, I am SO sorry you have gone through such a traumatic experience. *hugs* I cannot imagine what you have had to deal with. XOXO

You know, I have PTSD... and sometimes I do wish I had that 'fog' that Jodi describes when it's convenient for her. But unfortunately it's been effecting my eating habits, sleeping habits... because when I sleep, I dream about a situation that I was involved in. And I think that part where she was on stand telling the jury she tried asking Travis to go see a mental health specialist - it was actually the other way around. Definitely cant hear any fear in her voice when she testified. No part where she felt like she was locking up or collapsing on the inside. No fear when she is describing being body slammed. This whole thing irks me.

I compare my ex to Jodi sometimes though. The only thing that makes him scared is when there are fireworks. The explosions made him try to shield his head and crouch down, only until I reassured him. I saw him do that about three times in one day on the forth of July back in 2008. Still thought he was in a war zone, so he kept reliving it. I don't sense the same fear coming from Jodi.

I thought that Wilmott was annoying as heck with all the um's, if I was doing shots everytime she said that I would be drunk now. Also the laughing about the whole psychologists know the brain thing just showed how unprofessional they are.

Travis lost big time this morning. Shame on all of them.
Thats what I'm thinking. When the judge said "this should have been brought up prior to trial" I was thinking, how? the defense presented this new information this morning! WTF. I'm not sure who she was referring to in that statement. Maybe she meant that the defense should have done something prior to trial?

If she's suffering from PTSD from the murder (which I don't believe is true LOL), thats her own damn fault! I thought Willmott was saying PTSD on the day of the murder indicating that was her excuse for the overkill, etc.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: from the “US National Library of Medicine”

Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or experienced a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death.

Symptoms of PTSD fall into three main categories:
    1. "Reliving" the event, which disturbs day-to-day activity
    • Flashback episodes, where the event seems to be happening again and again
    • Repeated upsetting memories of the event
    • Repeated nightmares of the event
    • Strong, uncomfortable reactions to situations that remind you of the event
    2. Avoidance
    • Emotional "numbing," or feeling as though you don't care about anything
    • Feeling detached
    • Being unable to remember important aspects of the trauma
    • Having a lack of interest in normal activities
    • Showing less of your moods
    • Avoiding places, people, or thoughts that remind you of the event
    • Feeling like you have no future
    3. Arousal
    • Difficulty concentrating
    • Startling easily
    • Having an exaggerated response to things that startle you
    • Feeling more aware (hypervigilance)
    • Feeling irritable or having outbursts of anger
    • Having trouble falling or staying asleep

You might feel guilt about the event (including "survivor guilt"). You might also have some of the following symptoms, which are typical of anxiety, stress, and tension:
    • Agitation or excitability
    • Dizziness
    • Fainting
    • Feeling your heart beat in your chest
    • Headache

There are no tests that can be done to diagnose PTSD. The diagnosis is made based on certain symptoms.

I was just thinking about that if these experts, do they know that Jodi drove more than thousands miles to visit him this time. Back tracking an so forth to get to him leaving a " no trail ". She went there before his departure to Cancun with another woman. She went there to "Kill him, if he says he was done with her." The
Defense is grasping, trying to get her off/out of the DP. Just saying that if I knew this why would I waist my time!!!!!!

Yes, I'm sure he would. However, the jury still would have heard the one of Travis' friends made comments about him being a pedophile (and that I don't think Travis responded with "No, I'm not!").

As lawyers always say, you can't "unring the bell". Once the jury hears something, it is in their mind, regardless of any instructions the judge gives later.

Section 1: Well we know that she didn't have any issues with doing normal day-to-day activities, including socializing, working, taking vacations, driving, etc. Anything like flashbacks etc, well no one could prove what was or wasn't going on in her head. But, again, she didn't have any difficulties functioning as a regular person and doing normal things in daily life.

Section 2: She certainly has been completely devoid of any emotion NOW when it comes to Travis; not even regret or remorse. But she obviously felt things like jealousy, and no doubt, hatred. She claims to have felt love for various boyfriends and exhibited emotions. So that one's a little complex. But, again, she seemed perfectly able to engage in and enjoy regular activities. She clearly didn't avoid places and people that supposedly reminded her of alleged events. She most likely didn't feel like she had no future; quite the opposite. She was trying to craft a future with Travis.

Section 3: Despite her claims of shaking like a chihuahua, she doesn't seem to startle easily or present herself as hypervigilant. I think we can safely say that she had NO trouble sleeping, since she claims to have slept through oral sex being performed on her.

Background on Travis' MySpace comment made by his friend Chad Perkins:

While I don't recall the exact wording (perhaps someone here will find it and link it), I seem to recall it was along the lines of Travis was 'cruising for underage boys'.

It appears these two close friends had an ongoing series of what I am sure they thought were hilarious dises for each other. Sort of the white Mormon guy version of a "Yo mama" exchange. So they made these kinds of joke insulting comments to each other all the time, always trying to one up the other.
