I see them on the lake sometimes.
I see them on the side of the road. Im always awed by how pretty they are when Theyre in a big flock, but then I remember how they used to attack me when I was a kid. They scare the F outta me
I have a pond. Sunofabitches shit everywhere.
I used to have to walk through a park that had a duck pond to get to school and there were 2 geese. They would go out of their way to chase me every.damn.morning. Fuckers
PCP ARE YOU SERIOUS WITH THIS?
And the sad thing, people are actually responding in here. Noobs and all.
And I just want to say
I sense we're being baited, but I guess I will bite anyway.
I used to live next to a small lake. Geese were all over the place. Bastards are MEAN. I had to hit one with my purse once because it tried to attack me. And yes, they crap everywhere.
My issue is with Canadian Geese. We're being over run with them due to overpopulation. Everything is covered with shit, they eat my (feral) cat's food, etc. etc.
But I honestly don't hate them. When I see a line of cars waiting for a flock to cross the road, I giggle. As for the "attacking", they mostly do that when they're nesting. They're very protective of their eggs.
We had a "couple" make a nest behind our building and I starting reading up on them (we wanted to know when the eggs would hatch) and what I read was very endearing.
They will almost always return to where they were born/raised to start their own family.
They pretty much mate for life. If one of them dies or is killed, the survivor will more than likely remain alone for the rest of their lives. If they do find a new mate, it's usually after a long "mourning" period.
The "couple" that nested behind our building had 8 eggs. Unfortunately, they made the nest right near the roof drain off and it was flooded on a few occasions so only 1 egg survived. But he was oh so cute.
So yeah, love hate relationship with the Canuck birds.
We were in a park and I said "Honk! Honk!" at said goose. It chased my mom and I and then jumped on her back and pecked her head. Never honk or speak to a goose. They get cranky. /coolstorybro
I have a picture of a family of geese crossing Route 50 going to Ocean City, MD. They had beach traffic backed up for miles.
My ex husband and I were feeding the ducks onetime, actually he was and I was watching. I have an insane fear of birds of all kinds. he knew it and always made fun of me. He walked over hugged me, I didn't know it, but he put a piece of bread in my hood. Two geese came out of nowhere and started trying to peck at my head.I freaked! I thought I was going to die. I wanted to die. It didn't help my phobia.
There are several families that cross highways here. They're fun to watch from the car.
There are geese by my work, they basically own the road before my work if they feel like crossing the road.
I'm really used to it and so are most other people and just drive around them...
There was some lady stopped at the train tracks I go over to get to work (right before these geese area) she waved me to go first (I had a stop sign, she didnt)
But I went anyway... she kind of waved at me again, kind of looked like a warning so I looked ahead and sure enough the geese were doing their thing.
When I got to work mom and I laughed cause clearly she was new to the area.
I don't sell crack, I'm a prostitute.
This is an amazing story. I just LOLed in a library. Maybe you said a swear word in their language? I think geese have been laughing at us for years, wondering why the Vs have more geese on one side that the other. Or maybe they were laughing at us anyway. Geese are OK. A swan bit me once but geese have always been alright, though they're kind of scary. Not Canadian geese, I just think they look cute.
Geese??
I must have missed the memo.
