That's what I thought, too. I mean, I know it was probably a terrible sight for the other passengers to behold, but couldn't some of them tackle the guy from behind, or grab him in a headlock and try to choke him out or something? I guess I would just hope that if something horrific was happening to me in public, someone would make the least bit of an attempt to save my life. And, yes, I know that it's different when it's actually happening infront of you, as opposed to just hearing about it on the news, but I'm still in shock that no one did a thing.
For the love of humanity, I plead that if any of you see anything happening to someone else, and you can safely intercede in some way, do it!!!!

Well since the Average Joe is trained to take down a knife wielding maniac. :lol:
It's not like it was a bus transporting Marines.
It's kids, the elderly, guys that are half his size and pregnant chicks sprinkled in there.
But I guess it's always fun to question why no one did anything other than run the fuck off the bus as quickly as possible.

The "safely" part in the phrase "safely intercede" is the key. If it was a group of big dudes sitting all around the attacker then i can see it being reasonable. If he immediately tried to lunge on someone else then its also reasonable. But lets face it, no chance saving this guy even if his head would have remained on his neck.
guys, i think i've solved this case.
the report says he was listening to his headphones right? maybe the volume was up a little high and he was listening to ICP? that would seriously explain the whole thing.

This is all insane and horrible, but it makes me wonder something. I've never rode a bus like that so do they do anything to check the luggage of the passengers at all, or do they have any restrictions about what you can or can not carry on a bus? I would think that it would make sense, I mean..maybe not to the extent that the airports do but if someone is getting on a bus with multiple weapons you might want to accept the fact that they might have some funny ideas. I certainly wouldn't board a bus knowing I was sitting next to a dude with a hunting knife in his bag.

I'm pretty sure that safety regulations aren't as strict on a bus as they are on an airplane. However, I have a feeling this might prompt Greyhound to change that. For a bus, I pretty much think you're just allowed to climb on as long as you have a ticket. No metal detectors, friskings, or what have you.
