MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- The Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River collapsed Thursday evening, injuring an unknown number of people. (Watch live coverage >>>)

Both the northbound and southbound portions of the bridge dropped into the river sometime before 7 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis.

Several cars were on the bridge when it collapsed, and at least three dropped into the water..

Xavier Grospe, 62, who lives near the river, said he could see three cars with what appeared to be one person per vehicle. The vehicles were sitting still in the water, partially submerged and partly above the waterline, and the apparent drivers were sitting either on top of the vehicles or on the edge of open windows.

"It doesn't look like anybody's in danger right now," Grospe said.

It's unclear how many people were injured in the collapse, but at least one person has been rescued.

Rescue crews are on the water in at least three boats tending to a semi-submerged car and truck, both of which are tangled in the wreckage of the bridge.

Bart Treece with the Washington State Department of Transportation was unsure when the bridge was last inspected.

"All of our bridges in the area are pretty old," he said.

For proof, look no further than the first-ever "Smallest Penis Contest" at King's County Bar in Brooklyn, New York, on July 20.

According to a Craigslist ad seeking "less endowed men" to prove that "good things can come in small packages," the contest will be "pageant style" and involve "talent, evening wear, and swimsuit elements."

And this won't be just another pissing contest, either. As the Village Voice notes, winners will be selected by a "small member expert panel."

Entrants must be 21 or older and must be present the day of the contest (no photos or remote entries), the ad states. They also "should be comfortable getting hosed down while wearing only skimpy underwear."

Competitors scheming to get ahead with a Borat-style man thong (or worse), take note: Promoters will level the playing field by handing out standard-issue undies for all contestants to wear.

According to Gothamist, the victor will receive a crown, the dubious title of "2013 Smallest Penis in Brooklyn" and a cash prize, which -- should the winner choose -- can be donated to charity.

Presumably there will be no large trophies.

A similar contest, held online by a Danish erotica website, hopes to raise awareness of what it says should not be a sensitive subject.

"It's incredible how the media has frightened people from showing themselves as they are," Morten Fabricius, the website's owner, told the Agence France-Presse.

'Major damage' as huge tornado rips through neighborhoods south of Oklahoma City

A monster tornado ripped through southern Oklahoma City and the suburb of Moore on Monday afternoon, leaving homes and schools in ruins and fires burning out of control.

A forecaster for NBC station KFOR said the tornado was kicking up a debris cloud about 2 miles wide as it tracked east into residential neighborhoods in the Moore area.

Oklahoma City police told NBC News southern portions of the city as well as the Moore suburb sustained "major damage... a lot of damage."

Live aerial video showed cars flipped over and crushed, several homes blown out and in splinters and rescue crews as well as residents scouring through wreckage.

Two elementary schools were heavily damaged, possibly completely destroyed, KFOR reported. Those schools are Briarwood Elementary in Oklahoma City and Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore, Okla.

Tens of millions of people in the Midwest are on edge as forecasters warn severe conditions could continue for the next couple days. NBC News' Jay Gray reports.

It appeared, however, as if the twister was dissipating and would miss the downtown area, The Weather Channel reported.

Like most 16-year-old girls, Savannah Nash couldn't wait to get behind the wheel once she got her driver's license.

Her first solo drive turned out to be her last.

Nash, who turned 16 last week, got permission Thursday afternoon to drive to the grocery store in Harrisonville, Mo., to pick up items for the family dinner.

Her vehicle slammed into a tractor-trailer on the way, and she died at the scene, according to WAFB-TV.

Investigators said the crash occurred when Nash turned left into the path of the truck, which was unable to brake in time, KMBC-TV reported.

A family member of Nash's died at that same location years earlier, her uncle told the station.

Investigators said they found an unsent text message on Nash?s cell phone, and believe texting and driving was a factor in the the crash, the Democrat-Missourian newspaper reported.

?There was a text message that was on her phone, however it was not sent yet,? Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol told Fox4KC.com. ?That is a probable contributing circumstance to the crash. That?s all part of the investigation.?

A vigil for Nash was held Friday at Harrisonville High School, where she was a freshman, a repeat honor roll student and Future Farmers of America competitor, KansasCity.com reported.

'Dead' toddler discovered to be alive on way to morgue in a body bag

A toddler whose entire family was killed in a car crash was put in a body bag and taken to the morgue before rescuers discovered he was still alive

London's Daily Mail reports this morning that doctors were about to put the one-year-old into cold storage when they noticed the bag move.

Little Eisa Hayat was the sole survivor of a car smash which wiped out the British family on their pilgrimage to Mecca last year.

Doctors in Saudi Arabia thought the toddler had also died in the crash and he was "zipped up" in a body bag.

Eisa, who survived the crash because his grandfather shielded him from the impact, was then taken to hospital and has made a full recovery, according to the Daily Mail.

The child's great-uncle Shazada Hayat said emergency service workers all assumed no-one survived the horror smash.

"They took him, zipped him up in the bag and took him to the morgue," he said. "He ended up in the mortuary.

"But as they were putting him in to storage, he moved around.

"They grabbed him, put him in an ambulance and rushed him to the Medina Children's Care Hospital."

The Daily Mail reports that Eisa has earlier set out with relatives from the family home in Newport, South Wales, for the religious journey.

The three-generations has travelled 5000km when their vehicle crashed.

Eisa lost both parents, grandparents and aunt when the driver fell asleep and the car veered off the road and smashed into a concrete bridge, according to the Daily Mail.

Eisa was later treated for a dislocated shoulder and a broken arm and ribs.

He is now being raised by relatives following his two near-death experiences.

The 23-year-old is so focused and busy that she sometimes forgets about the turmoil that?s dogged her since childhood. ?Some days, it?s like it never happened,? Rachael said. ?But some days, I really do struggle. I have such strong abandonment issues.?
Her issues stem from the way her life began. On Sept. 27, 1989, the day Rachael was born, she was sealed inside a dark garbage bag with her umbilical cord and placenta still attached. The trash bag was then thrown, hard, into a dumpster.
Minutes before she ran out of oxygen, someone heard her cries and saved her. Her abandonment and rescue in Temple Hills, Md., became one of the most widely publicized stories of its kind ? so well-known, in fact, that Rachael overheard people talking about it in front of her when she was about 2.

Florida man charged with murder for tricking girlfriend into taking abortion pill

TAMPA, Fla. - Federal authorities arrested a Florida doctor's son, who they said tricked his pregnant girlfriend into taking an abortion pill, killing their unborn child.

John Andrew Weldon, 28, is now facing first-degree murder and interfering with interstate commerce charges.

According to a federal arrest affidavit, Weldon swapped out his girlfriend's antibiotics with abortion pills, specifically Cytotec.

"I was never going to do anything but go full term with it, and he didn't want me to," said Remee Lee, 26, Weldon's now ex-girlfriend.

On Easter Sunday, Lee went to an area hospital complaining of severe cramping and excessive vaginal bleeding. Doctors told Lee her unborn baby no longer had a heartbeat.

Lee also brought along a bottle of Amoxicillin, an antibiotic. But when doctors examined the pills, they told her they were abortion pills.

"He came to my house with the pills, his weapon of choice," Lee recalled.

Lee said when she learned she was pregnant, Weldon took her to see his father, who is an obstetrician in Lutz. A sonogram and blood test confirmed Lee was six weeks pregnant.

The next day, Weldon called his girlfriend with bad news. Her blood test apparently showed she had a bacterial infection and she would need to take Amoxicillin to clear it up.

On Good Friday, Lee said Weldon showed up at her Tampa home with a care package that included the bottle of antibiotics. The label said the pills were A moxicillin .

"He told me to keep taking them. I was supposed to take three-a-day for days," she recalled of Weldon's instructions.

Lee told our station in Tampa, WFTS, that she did not call her boyfriend's father to confirm she had a bacterial infection or that she needed to take the medication. Lee believed Weldon was the love of her life and said she had no reason to not believe what he was telling her. She said Weldon's father also never followed up with her after her initial visit.

Lee met Weldon last year and described their relationship as love at first sight.

"He was my everything and more," said Lee.

Thinking wedding bells were in their future, Lee said learning she was pregnant back in February was elating and a blessing.

"Everyone dreams of becoming a mom. This was my chance," she said.

According to a civil lawsuit filed by Lee's attorney Wednesday afternoon, Weldon acknowledged he was the father of the unborn child but pleaded with Lee to not go through with the pregnancy.

At that point, Lee claims she vowed to do everything in the best interest of her baby including not drinking caffeine and making sure she wasn't around anyone who smoked.

"He used this pregnancy as my Achilles heel. He knew I wanted to do what is best, so that is why I took (the pills)," said Lee.

FBI agents said Weldon admitted to switching the pills and even scratched off any identifiers on the pills so Lee wouldn't suspect anything.

Lee is seeking a minimum of $15,000 in punitive damages and her suit cites battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Weldon.

Gil Sanchez, who represents Lee, said Weldon worked at his father's officer and even had his own biography page on the office's website. The biography states that Welden, who goes by the first name Andrew on the site, is a manager at his father's weight loss center which is adjacent to his OB/GYN office.

A second 'house of horrors' abortion clinic is being investigated in Texas, just days after Dr Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of murdering newborns at his Philadelphia termination center.

Houston doctor Douglas Karpen is accused by four former employees of delivering live fetuses during third-trimester abortions and killing them by either snipping their spinal cord, stabbing a surgical instrument into their heads or 'twisting their heads off their necks with his own bare hands'.

Other times the fetus was so big he would have to pull it out of the womb in pieces, Karpen's ex-assistant, Deborah Edge, said in an Operation Rescue video, which has prompted a criminal investigation into the doctor.

'Sometimes he couldn't get the fetus out... he would yank pieces ? piece by piece ? when they were oversize,' Edge explained.

'And I'm talking about the whole floor dirty. I'm talking about me drenched in blood.'

Two of Edge's colleagues, Gigi Aguliar, and Krystal Rodriguez, also described the hellish scenes which took place at the Aaron Women's Clinic in Houston in 2011, and possibly two other abortion clinics run by Karpen in Texas.

Another staffer, who remains anonymous, filed an affidavit with her account of events, which the Texas Department of State Health Services is using in its investigation.

'We have several people looking into the allegations,' Harris County District Attorney spokesman Sara Marie Kinney told Chron.com.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst said he had read the allegations 'with disgust' before calling for a full investigation into Karpen and his clinics.

Lifenews.com, an anti-abortion news website, has published cell phone photographs taken by the employees of fetuses with gashes in their necks after they were killed at the clinic, though these are far too gruesome for MailOnline to show.

Edge said fetuses were killed well after 24 weeks gestation at the Houston clinic, which resulted in a sweat-inducing job that took about an hour per procedure. She said every morning on multiple occasions she would see fetuses born alive and then quickly killed by the doctor.

'When he did an abortion, especially an over 20 week abortion, most of the time the fetus would come completely out before he either cut the spinal cord or he introduced one of the instruments into the soft spot of the fetus in order to kill it.... or actually twisting the head off the neck with his own bare hands,' she explained.

'It was still alive because it was still moving and you could see the stomach breathing.'

The women described one occasion where a fetus that Karpen thought was dead suddenly 'opened its eyes and grabbed (the doctor's) finger' after he wrenched it from the womb. However, it met a similar fate to the other fetuses at the clinic, the women said.

'He thought it was dead but the fetus actually opened its eyes and grabbed his finger,' Aguliar said. 'He was alive. He thought it was deceased already. He was getting ready to put it in the back.'

They also recounted occasions when women were so far along with their pregnancy they were actually induced into labor and in two cases their fetus' came out while they were in the bathroom.

Rodriguez described another incident where a patient's fetus fell from her and onto the floor in the clinic's waiting room.

'(Karpen) just picked it up with a Chux and put it in the trash bag,' she said.

According to Rodriguez, as long as patients had the cash, Karpen would perform an abortion well past 24 weeks. A late-term procedure cost between $4,000 and $5,000 at the clinic, they said in the video which was filmed as the clinic was still operating and released on Wednesday.

Edge said she regularly got upset during her work and couldn't watch when Karpen allegedly killed the newborns. But she said she didn't know that what he was doing was illegal.

'We used to look at each other and sometimes our tears would come out with the other assistants,' Edge said. 'We would always think "he's so greedy."'

Brothers died Monday in New York City, according to her longtime publicist, Sanford Brokaw. The cause of death was not immediately made public.

Brothers first gained fame on a game show and went on to publish 15 books and make cameo appearances on popular shows including "Happy Days" and "The Simpsons." She visited Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" nearly 100 times.

OOPS: Psychic Who Said Amanda Berry Was Dead Silent After Berry Is Found Alive

A year after Amanda Berry disappeared in Cleveland, her mother appeared on "The Montel Williams Show" to speak to a psychic about what happened to her daughter.

Psychic Sylvia Browne, who has made a career of televised psychic readings, told Louwanna Miller on a 2004 episode of the show that her daughter was dead, causing Miller to break down in tears on the show's set.

"She's not alive, honey," Browne told Miller on the show, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper. "Your daughter's not the kind who wouldn't call."

Miller told the newspaper that she believed "98 percent" in what Browne told her. Miller died a year later from heart failure.

On Monday, Berry was found alive after she broke free from a home in Cleveland where she says she has been kept for the past decade.

The first completely 3D-printed gun, gets test-fired (video)

The (almost) all-plastic 3D-printed Liberator pistol was announced by Defense Distributed late last week, but with the gun's blueprints and construction details now live on the company's own DefCAD design site, it's also released a video taken during its testing. In front of a Forbes onlooker, the clip apparently shows a .380 caliber bullet being fired by the Liberator.

The only non-plastic part of the design is a common nail, which acts as the firing pin. Defense Distributed's founder Cody Wilson has worked over a year on the project, apparently citing the one-shot pistols that were designed to be air-dropped over France during World War II as inspiration -- also called the Liberator. This modern version is, however, formed of 15 components made inside a Stratasys Dimension SST 3D printer.

(CNN) -- The United States believes Israel has conducted an airstrike into Syria, two U.S. officials first told CNN.
U.S. and Western intelligence agencies are reviewing classified data showing Israel most likely conducted a strike in the Thursday-Friday time frame, according to both officials. This is the same time frame that the U.S. collected additional data showing Israel was flying a high number of warplanes over Lebanon.

One official said the United States had limited information so far and could not yet confirm those are the specific warplanes that conducted a strike. Based on initial indications, the U.S. does not believe Israeli warplanes entered Syrian airspace to conduct the strikes.

Both officials said there is no reason to believe Israel struck at a chemical weapons storage facilities. The Israelis have long said they would strike at any targets that prove to be the transfer of any kinds of weapons to Hezbollah or other terrorist groups, as well as at any effort to smuggle Syrian weapons into Lebanon that could threaten Israel.
The Lebanese army website listed 16 flights by Israeli warplanes penetrating Lebanon's airspace from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon local time.

The Israeli military had no comment. But a source in the Israeli defense establishment told CNN's Sara Sidner, "We will do whatever is necessary to stop the transfer of weapons from Syria to terrorist organizations. We have done it in the past and we will do it if necessary the future."

Size DOES matter? Women find tall men with larger penises more attractive: study

After showing computer-generated images of men to over 100 women, researchers concluded that tall men with larger penises are what heterosexual women want.

The eternal question of whether penis size matters to women has been probed by a team of international scientists who reported on Monday that yes, ladies do find larger men more attractive.

What's more, prehistoric women who could see the sex organs of their scantily clad male counterparts may have helped influence the evolution of larger genitals in men by choosing to mate with partners who were bigger.

Researchers said they decided to tackle the topic because past studies had offered conflicting answers, and may have been sullied by asking the women too directly.

"Since penis size is a sensitive subject, it's hard to determine whether females lied or 'self-deceived' in their responses," lead author Brian Mautz, a postdoctoral researcher in evolution and sexual selection at the University of Ottawa, told AFP via email.

So they embarked on a new type of study, using computer-generated images of generic male figures with varying heights, body shapes and flaccid penis lengths.

A sample of 105 Australian women were asked to view 53 of these life-sized robot-like pictures, which rotated so they were visible at different angles.

The women -- all heterosexual -- were not told they were participating in a study about penis size. They were simply asked to rate the figures according to sexual attractiveness. Their answers were collected anonymously.

Researchers found that women rated tall men with long penises as the most attractive.

The women also tended to gaze longer at the larger men. But not too long -- each rating was made in about three seconds.

But how big is best? On that question, researchers were, er, stumped.

"We didn't find an ideal (i.e. 'most attractive') penis size or height," Mautz explained.

"The attractiveness scores were still increasing at the largest values for these traits."

The findings were published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal in the United States, called the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The results "directly contradict claims that penis size is unimportant to most females," and also hint at why human males tend to have relatively larger genitalia when compared to other primates, the study said.

"Our results show that female mate choice could have played a role in the evolution of the relatively large human male penis," the authors wrote.

"Before clothing, the nonretractable human penis would have been conspicuous to potential mates."

The study did not get into the racial background of men and whether that may affect penis size, but it did document the ethnicity and age of the women it was studying for hints about whether penis size mattered.

More than 70 percent of the women were of European origin, 20 percent were Asian and seven percent were from elsewhere. Their average age was 26.

Country singer charged with elderly abuse

CNN) -- Country singer Billy Currington is a wanted man, indicted on charges of making terroristic threats and the abuse of an elderly person by a Georgia grand jury.

The indictment accused Currington, 39, of threatening bodily harm against Charles Harvey Ferrelle in Tybee Island, Georgia, on April 15.

The elder abuse charge was included because Farrell is older than 65, the indictment said.

A Savannah judge issued a bench warrant for Currington's arrest after the indictment was handed up by a Chatham County grand jury that "found sufficient evidence" against him, District Attorney Meg Heap said Wednesday.

The prosecutor did not give any other details about the allegations.

Currington and his representatives did not immediately respond to CNN requests for comment, although the singer did post a message to fans through his Twitter account: "hey guys, I wanted to thank everyone for the huge amount of support that I have received already. Unfortunately, I can't comment on this situation as this is an ongoing legal matter. It means a lot to me to have your support during this time."

While it is unclear if there is a connection, Currington tweeted this two days after the alleged incident: "harrassing artists often at their home by boat should be illegal. thas all i know."

Although Currington mostly lives in Nashville, he is a native of Rincon, Georgia, which is about 35 miles inland from Tybee Island.

Currington's hit country songs include "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "Good Directions," "People Are Crazy," "That's How Country Boys Roll," "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer," and "Let Me Down Easy."

40 per cent of Australian women wear a bra with a cup size DD or bigger

THE bra market is expanding, literally. Up to 40 per cent of Australian women now buy bras with a cup size of DD or higher, new figures from lingerie suppliers show.
In the 1950s, the most common bra-cup size was a B - three sizes less than a DD.

Modern breasts are getting so large that some bra companies have introduced cup sizes as high as K, The Sunday Telegraph reports.

Experts blame the cleavage boost on obesity, contraceptive pills and artificial hormones.

I figured a fun thread would be to glorify the dickery that is in today's politics.

Today's offender is Tennesse Senator, Stacey Campfield.

Stacey thinks that mocking the banning of pressure cooker bombs (in light of the Boston Bombing), is parallel to the argument of gun control. Observe:

A Tennessee state senator is refusing to apologize for what many are calling a "tasteless" joke about pressure cookers in his blog in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Republican State Sen. Stacey Campfield posted a photo of a pressure cooker with "Assault Pressure Cooker (APC)" printed below it.

The photo had labels and arrows pointing to all of the pot's "dangerous" features including a "muzzle break thingy that goes 'up'" and a "tactical pistol grip."

It's also described as "large-capacity, can cook for hours without reloading" and the color was "evil, black."

The blog post was titled, "Here comes Feinstein again," an apparent dig at Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), one of the leading proponents in the battle for gun control. The image implied that pressure cookers might be her next target.

Two pressure cookers were turned into bombs in the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and wounded more than 260 people.

Campfield dismisses the criticism.

"I think it's tasteless when Obama will drag everybody he can up to Capitol Hill and try to pass gun control," Campfield told ABCNews.com today. "I think that was classless and tasteless. I don't hear them complaining about that too much."

"I was showing the hypocrisy of Diane Feinstein, the gun grabbers, of their inability to realize that it is a person that does activity, not an inanimate object, be it a gun or a pressure cooker," he said.

Campfield also posted a follow-up post on his blog titled, "Inappropriate? Me? Never!"

He wrote that he had gotten a call from the media inquiring about the blog being called "inappropriate."

"Really?" Campfield wrote. "If my post was inappropriate talking about 'crock pot control' then where is the outrage from the left when they push for gun control after the Sandy Hook shooting? Im [sic] sorry if I exposed your double standard....Well, not really."

Dozens of people commented on the pressure cooker post and its follow-up post, both condemning and supporting the senator.

"What kind of insensitive imbecile thinks it's okay to post a picture like this? Do you think it's a joke? Three people dead, one an eight year old child and you think it's something to laugh about?" one person wrote.

Another defended it by writing, "Nowhere in this post do I see anyone laughing over death. The post is about double standards."

"While obviously intended as a way to show how idiotic some Senators (mostly Democrats) are in trying to ban 'assault weapons'; this only comes across as insensitive and mean," yet another person wrote. "Perhaps a blog post talking about how idiotic it is would be in order, but this picture doesn't do it."

Campfield has not been the only lawmaker in trouble for seemingly insensitive comments.

During the manhunt for the bombing suspects on April 19 that put Boston on lockdown, Arkansas Republican State Rep. Nate Bell tweeted, "I wonder how many Boston liberals spent the night cowering in their homes wishing they had an AR-15 with a hi-capacity magazine? #2A."

Bell pulled the tweet and apologized after a barrage of criticism.

"I would like to apologize to the people of Boston & Massachusetts for the poor timing of my tweet earlier this morning," he posted on Facebook. "As a staunch and unwavering supporter of the individual right to self defense, I expressed my point of view without thinking of its effect on those still in time of crisis."

Bell said he regretted the "poor choice of timing."

Campfield is no stranger to criticism for his opinions. He was behind a failed bill that proposed reducing welfare assistance for kids with low grades in school and authored a controversial bill that would prohibit teachers from discussing any sexuality aside from heterosexuality up until the eighth grade.
