Villagers threw 17-year-old Santos Ramos into the open grave after he was identified as a possible culprit in the attack
on Leandra Arias Janco in the southern highlands of Bolivia, prosecutor Jose Luis Barrios said.

The Associated Press cites a source who claims Ramos was tied up at the 35-year-old woman?s funeral and then
thrown into the open grave in Colquechaca, 400 miles south of La Paz.

The woman?s coffin was then placed on top of him and the grave was filled with earth, it added.

Ramos was a peasant, the AFP reports, adding the region's small police force
was unable to contain the crowd of "about 100 people" thought to be involved.

Police and judicial workers are scarce in rural areas of Bolivia where residents often take justice into their own hands,
making killings and lynchings not uncommon.

In 2009 President Evo Morales approved a law extending institutional recognition of "indigenous justice".

But as The Economist points out, "Community justice can sometime resemble legalised lynching,
featuring stoning, strangulation or burning with petrol. The police do not keep separate records of these acts."

In May last year a Bolivian police officer was lynched by a mob after he was confused with a thief
in the city of El Alto, which is adjacent to La Paz, the Latin American Herald Tribune reported.

Rapper Danny Brown is in the middle of controversy following an incident in which a female fan stormed the stage during a live show and performed fellatio on him.


Fellow rapper Kitty Pryde has come to Brown?s defense, penning a lengthy letter about the incident, the New York Daily News reports.

In the letter, Pryde condemns media reaction to the incident as part of a double standard condoning woman-on-man sexual assaults, stating that if the situation were reversed, Brown would have also been subjected to racial abuse.

Danny Brown initially tweeted he did not miss a bar while singing during the incident, but later deleted the tweet and retweeted fan reactions and Kitty Pryde?s letter.

It happened May 13 in the western Hungarian town of Magyarszecsod, when Sandor Horvath, a 65-year-old retired firefighter, was apparently pulled off his motorcycle by the donkeys kept on a lot neighboring his small farm. The animals likely dragged him some 50 meters (55 yards), biting and trampling him.

Vas County Police said Tuesday they are still working on the case but had no new developments to report.

The results of an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death have not been released.

The donkeys are being kept under observation for another week before their fate is decided.

Choudhury, 19, snapped the photo in a bus lane in Edinburgh, Scotland early Sunday morning. He tweeted it along with the message: ?Eeeehm wtf? Some guy just casually lying outside Ocean Terminal.?

The tweet, along with Choudhury?s account, has since been deleted, though it was visible for around eight hours before police told him to remove it, according to the Daily Record. Social media search engine Topsy also indexed the tweet before it was deleted.

Choudhury claimed the man was drunk, and when asked by followers why he didn?t try to help, he tweeted: ?what if like i went over n he like tried doin some dodgy shit to me??

At least two other community members shared the photo with the local police force. Others, such as Keanne Brown, called Choudhury ?sick? for not checking on the man.

Police arrived at the scene around 14 minutes after Choudhury sent his tweet and reportedly administered first aid while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The man was taken to hospital, where he died of head and internal injuries.

Officers spoke with Choudhury at his parents? home Sunday. Though he?s not a suspect in the hit-and-run, he may face charges for failing to stop and help the man.

Ari Mandel says heaven can wait, eBay can keep its rules ? and one deep-pocketed online bidder can keep his or her $100,000.

The Jewish man who sparked a frenzied day of bidding by auctioning off a prime spot in heaven ? a spiral that reached six figures before the online giant shut it down ? insists the whole thing was a big joke.

?Disappointed? No. It was a joke that ran away from me, and sure, why not?? said Mandel, 31, of Teaneck, N.J. ?When it reached $100,000 I didn?t really expect to get that money.?

?It was nice to fantasize,? he added. ?But I didn?t think it was going to happen.?

Mandel said he had no idea his auction would turn into an internet sensation.

?I?m not a master prankster,? he said. ?This idea just popped in my head and I jumped on it.?

Some in the ultra-Orthodox world apparently believed he was mocking their faith. But Mandel says his auction, which was peppered with references to Yiddish phrases and referred to common Jewish beliefs, was a good-natured joke.

?To those of you who took this seriously, chill out. It was just a joke,? he said. ?Whether or not you?re a believer in this sort of thing, chill out.?

Mandel was raised in an ultra-Orthodox community in upstate New York but left the community about seven years ago. He is now a divorced father of one child and a student who works as a part-time translator.

He posted ?My Portion in Olam Habaah (Heaven)? on eBay Tuesday morning asking for an opening bid of a modest 99 cents.

He explained that he was sure to secure a spot in the hereafter because of his good deeds carried out over the years. He even offered to return the successful bidder?s cash if he fell off the wagon.

Within a few hours, people were bidding several dollars. Then hundreds of dollars. Then, things really got crazy. In a frenzied hour late in the afternoon, the top bid skyrocketed to $99,900.

Around the same time, eBay started getting complaints from people offended by the auction. As Mandel understands it, ultra-Orthodox internet users posted the item on online bulletin boards, sparking anger in the community.

?There were countless people offended,? Mandel said. ?People sent me screen shots of people having reported it.?

An eBay representative called Mandel to inform him that the auction violated a rule prohibiting putting ?non-tangible? items up for bids. The site warned him not to try to repost the item, and pulled down the listing from its web site.

Within seconds, the $100,000 bid was gone what looked like a six-figure bonanza turned into a internet mirage.


Mandel says he?s not upset about losing out on a big payday.

?I had fun while it lasted, you know? It was just a little gag,? he said. ?Kept me busy for a day.?

As for the ultimate question, Mandel says he has no idea who might have bid $100,000 for his little slice of Jewish heaven.
