A SERVING British soldier was hacked to death in south east London metres away from his barracks by two men with meat cleavers ranting "we swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you".

In extraordinary broad daylight scenes in Woolwich, the men allegedly ran the man down in a car then tried to hack the man?s head off and have their own crime filmed.

They then waited 20 minutes for police to turn up before charging at them with meat cleavers, knives and a hand gun.

Both men, shouting "Allah Akbar" or "God is great" in Arabic, were shot by police snipers including a female officer, and were this morning (AEST) in hospital under guard in a serious but stable condition.

Jordan Marie Aaron, 13, was last seen at 9pm Wednesday, May 1 2013. When her parents went in to her room around 6am on the Thursday, May 2, the teen was not in her bed. Her makeup and hair products were also missing. This case is currently being treated as a runaway, though investigators are looking at every angle and very much want to make sure this teen is safe. Jordan recently had ankle surgery and walks with a limp. This subject frequently uses social media sites such as Facebook, Tagged, Smeet, etc.

DAYTON, Iowa ? Authorities say a convicted sex offender who was suspected of abducting two girls from an Iowa bus stop has been found dead.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says 42-year-old Michael Klunder was found dead Monday night at a rural property northeast of Dayton, which is about 60 miles north of Des Moines. His cause of death hasn't been released.

Klunder is accused of abducting a 15-year-old girl and 12-year-old girl on Monday. The 12-year-old was able to escape and told authorities she and the other girl were taken to an agricultural facility after accepting a ride from a stranger.

The 15-year-old is still missing. Dozens of law enforcement agents are searching for Kathlynn Shepard. Authorities say they're releasing her name and photo in an effort to find her alive.

A man suspected of abducting two girls from a bus stop in central Iowa has been found dead, but a massive search for one of the girls continues, authorities said Tuesday.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said at a news conference that the body of 42-year-old Michael Klunder was found Monday night at a rural property northeast of Dayton. His cause of death remains under investigation.

Dozens of federal, state and local law enforcement are searching still for 15-year-old Kathlynn Shepard. She and a 12-year-old girl were taken from a Dayton bus stop on Monday and transported to a rural agricultural facility southeast of the city.

The 12-year-old girl was able to escape and ran to a nearby rural residence for help, DCI Director Chari Paulson said. She told investigators that she and the 15-year-old had accepted a ride from a stranger.

The girl, whose name has not been released, was taken to a Fort Dodge hospital and released. Authorities haven't said what relationship the girls have to one another.

The onset of daylight has expanded the search, which includes about a 75- to 100-square-mile area of mostly rural land, according to Jessica Lown with the Iowa Department of Public Safety. Authorities are searching by air, water and land, and have deployed canine units. Volunteers also are conducting a foot patrol of the area.

Authorities have not released a lot of information about Klunder, but noted he resided and worked in the area

Police confirmed the man's identity as Dominique Venner, 78, an essayist and activist linked with France's far-right and nationalist groups.

In a final essay on his website Tuesday, he railed against France's adoption of a "vile law" legalising gay marriage and adoption, urging activists to take measures to protect "French and European identities".

In a possible reference to his suicide, Venner wrote: "There will certainly need to be new, spectacular, symbolic gestures to shake off the sleepiness ... and re-awaken the memories of our origins."

"We are reaching a time when words must be backed up with acts," he added.

The rector of the cathedral, Monsignor Patrick Jacquin, said that Venner had laid a letter on the altar before killing himself. A police source said the letter contained similar writings to those on Venner's website.

"We did not know him, he was not a regular at the cathedral," Monsignor Jacquin said, adding that he believed it was the first time anyone had committed suicide inside the cathedral.

His suicide was hailed by Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right Front National, as a political gesture.

"All respect to Dominique Venner whose final, eminently political act was to try to wake up the people of France," Le Pen said on Twitter, though she added later that "it is in life and hope that France will renew and save itself."

Police said Venner shot himself with a pistol and that the cathedral, which at the time contained about 1500 people, was then evacuated without incident.

Venner had a long career publishing right-wing essays, military histories and books on weaponry and hunting.

Woman charged with trying to poison family members
BATTLEBORO A North Carolina woman is charged with trying to poison five family members after one of them refused to share some cheese with her.

A statement from the Nash County Sheriff's Office said 24-year-old Tiara Drake wanted some of a relative's cheese on Friday, but the woman refused to share.

The sheriff's office said Drake awakened before the rest of the family the next morning and used detergent, window cleaner and a household cleanser to poison the cheese. The rest of the family made breakfast with the cheese and began eating it before one of them determined it was tainted.

Drake is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and jailed under $50,000 bond. She had a court appearance Monday but didn't have an attorney at the hearing.

In fact many times we mock death. Obviously if you join a site called mydeathspace, you can't really take death that seriously or else you would probably kill yourself.

We make fun of death here. We have had members die. We have been at wars and have destroyed other forums. We have even ruined lives of members that have gone rogue and done nasty things.

I am actually a big supporter of the influx of noobs on the site because i know there are probably a few stars that will stick around amongst this bunch.

Now i understand many old members provoke at times and cause trouble. This is how this site has always been. Remember, this is not JODIARIASTRIAL.com. So those that aren't interested or are semi interested will do things to entertain themselves. It is in your best interest not to report most things because the mods here give us all something great here and that is freedom. Outside of posting wrong things in wrong threads and real racism, you are pretty much given free reign on this site.

Respect the freedom this site has given you. Respect that you can talk about almost anything, post anything and not be judged. This is why you are here pretty much. I am sure you are all not talking about the depth of Travis's neck wound cut, or how you want to literally fry Jodi to a crisp with your family and friends.

You only exist here because of us old members. We are the only reason many of you have congregated here and have had great trial discussions. I see many of you even made friends and talk with and have met with other members on this site.

It was supposed to be a birthday trip to paradise, but Honolulu police are looking for a Northeast Portland woman who has not been seen in days.

Ivanice Harris, also known as Ivy, was last seen around 2:15 a.m. Thursday outside Kelley?s Bar in Waikiki talking with an unknown man. She has not been seen or heard from since, Honolulu police confirmed to KOIN 6 News.

The Jefferson High School graduate went to Hawaii with her friends and her longtime boyfriend to celebrate her 29th birthday.

But her family is worried because of the silence. Her sister, Ivesha Harris, said Ivy is always in touch with her mom, sisters and cousin.

She told KOIN 6 News Ivy?s phone is turned off but police were able to trace signals coming from it. Her friends are handing out fliers in Hawaii in the area she was last seen.

One of those friends talked to KOIN 6 News about the search: ?I feel like she?s being held against her will,? Jill Gibides said. ?We don?t know how OK she is. Every minute counts right now. I don?t want it to be too late.?

Harris had been living in Las Vegas but moved back to Portland and lived with her mother. She was planning to start school next month at Mount Hood Community College.

A monster tornado ripped through southern Oklahoma City and the suburb of Moore on Monday afternoon, leaving homes and schools in ruins and fires burning out of control.

A forecaster for NBC station KFOR said the tornado was kicking up a debris cloud about 2 miles wide as it tracked east into residential neighborhoods in the Moore area.

Oklahoma City police told NBC News southern portions of the city as well as the Moore suburb sustained "major damage... a lot of damage."

Live aerial video showed cars flipped over and crushed, several homes blown out and in splinters and rescue crews as well as residents scouring through wreckage.

Two elementary schools were heavily damaged, possibly completely destroyed, KFOR reported. Those schools are Briarwood Elementary in Oklahoma City and Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore, Okla.

Tens of millions of people in the Midwest are on edge as forecasters warn severe conditions could continue for the next couple days. NBC News' Jay Gray reports.

It appeared, however, as if the twister was dissipating and would miss the downtown area, The Weather Channel reported.

She then went outside to help her father put Stephen Moore's body in the trunk of a car.

Dorsett, a 38-year-old former third-grade teacher, and her parents pleaded guilty Thursday to their roles in Moore's murder and the attempted murder of his mother. They told a judge they were angry about the divorce decree and custody arrangements for the couple's daughter, who was then 20 months old.

Dorsett pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, attempted murder and second-degree conspiracy to desecrate human remains. Her father, Thomas, pleaded guilty to murder and arson-for-hire. The mother, Lesley, admitted that she conspired to have Moore's mother killed before she had a chance to testify at trial.

Kathleen Dorsett said that on the day of the slaying in August 2010, she sent Moore to the backyard of her Ocean Township home, where her father was waiting to kill him.

After father and daughter loaded the body into a car, Thomas Dorsett admitted he drove the vehicle to Long Branch and then hired someone to set it on fire the following day.

In Thursday's court hearing, lawyers and the defendants revealed how frustrating family problems turned into a murder plot.

A few years after they married, prosecutors said Kathleen began telling her father there were problems in the marriage and that she did not think Moore could provide for the family. Authorities would not elaborate on those details.

Thomas Dorsett said he provided for his daughter's family while she was married and that he helped take care of his granddaughter, who lived two houses away.

"That's all I did," he told the court.

Thomas Dorsett and Moore's relationship grew increasingly hostile. He acknowledged in Thursday's hearing that he had considered planting drugs on Moore or killing him earlier.

At one point, prosecutors said, Moore reported Thomas Dorsett to the state's child services agency claiming the grandfather was mistreating the girl. The details of an investigation there were not revealed.

Assistant prosecutor Marc Lemieux told a judge that a divorce decree further strained the relationship among Moore and the Dorsetts.

According to a copy of the June 2010 decree reviewed by The Associated Press, Moore and the Dorsett family were all moving to Florida. The Dorsetts were to find Moore a home within 25 miles of theirs, subsidize his rent, help find him a job and waive any claim to child support until he got a job there.

Lesley Dorsett, 68, told the court she conspired with her daughter ? who at the time was in jail for her ex-husband's murder ? to have Moore's mother killed.

"The goal was to kill (her) because we were afraid she was going to testify," Lesley Dorsett said.

The women were also upset Moore's mother was awarded temporary custody of Kathleen Dorsett's daughter.

Lesley Dorsett said she took an envelope with Moore's mother's name on it, stuffed it with cash and handed it over at a department store to someone she believed was a hit man. But the supposed hit man was actually an undercover cop and Lesley Dorsett was soon arrested.

Kathleen Dorsett faces 58 years in state prison, with no parole before 51 years. Thomas Dorsett faces 50 years in prison with no parole before 30 years. Lesley Dorsett faces eight years in prison with no parole before seven years. All three are scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 8.

Moore's mother, Evlyn, told reporters after the hearing she was glad to see the guilty pleas.

"I'm satisfied today as I will ever be," she said. "I feel that Stephen has gotten justice today."

Like most 16-year-old girls, Savannah Nash couldn't wait to get behind the wheel once she got her driver's license.

Her first solo drive turned out to be her last.

Nash, who turned 16 last week, got permission Thursday afternoon to drive to the grocery store in Harrisonville, Mo., to pick up items for the family dinner.

Her vehicle slammed into a tractor-trailer on the way, and she died at the scene, according to WAFB-TV.

Investigators said the crash occurred when Nash turned left into the path of the truck, which was unable to brake in time, KMBC-TV reported.

A family member of Nash's died at that same location years earlier, her uncle told the station.

Investigators said they found an unsent text message on Nash?s cell phone, and believe texting and driving was a factor in the the crash, the Democrat-Missourian newspaper reported.


?There was a text message that was on her phone, however it was not sent yet,? Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol told Fox4KC.com. ?That is a probable contributing circumstance to the crash. That?s all part of the investigation.?

Loretta Burroughs sobbed as a judge explained her rights. She is charged with her missing husband's murder. Remains found in her Ventnor home this morning were positively identified as Danny Burroughs, who went missing in 2007.

Ray Josephs? bond with his brother, Danny Burroughs, went beyond just any normal sibling relationship.

?As close as two brothers/best friends could ever hope to be,? said Josephs. ?That?s what my brother and I shared.?

It was that bond that amplified the pain Josephs felt six years ago when Burroughs went missing. His brother was last seen on his riding lawnmower on August 14, 2007, at the home he shared with his then-wife Lorette Burroughs, in Hamilton Township.

Friday morning however, Danny Burroughs? remains were found in two containers in Loretta?s home in Ventnor, New Jersey, according to a source close to the investigation. Loretta was charged with his murder.


?Trying to cope with this horrific outcome,? said Josephs. ?Within myself I am indeed fighting my best fight.?

Burroughs, 61, wept quietly Friday afternoon as she was formally charged with her ex-husband's murder. Investigators say she stabbed her husband to death in 2007. Autopsy results are pending.

Loretta divorced Danny shortly after he disappeared. She then sold the couple's home. Loretta moved, more than once, according to the Burroughs family, and was living at the home on Hampshire Drive in Ventnor where the body parts were found.

Crime scene investigators, acting on new information, went to the home Friday morning around 6 or 7 a.m., according to neighbors. The remains were discovered inside a closet and positively identified as Daniel Burroughs.

Investigators are not clear if they were put into containers due to decomposition, or if the body was mutilated. They do believe that the body was moved several times. And detectives say Loretta Burroughs was in the process of selling her Ventnor home and relocating to another home in Villas, Cape May County.

Danny Burroughs' family convinced investigators to re-open the case in February, after the county put together a Cold Case Unit. The family launched a Find Danny Burroughs Facebook page in 2010, and used the page to raise questions about Danny's disappearance. In the "about" section of the page, Josephs wrote:

Out of nowhere his (now) x-wife told everybody he "ran off with another woman", he left without ANY of his belongings-NOTHING! I say BS to her story and MANY-MANY lies! She, never even called to tell me (my brother) Dan supposedly "up and left." I found out several days later when I called my brothers home to see how he was feeling >for me, this is when the nightmare began.

"We knew for years that she knew something and we just couldn't get the help from anybody to find him," said Robert Valiante, Jr., a family friend.

Burroughs' family kept pushing police to go past Loretta Burrough's claim that Dan had run off to Florida with another woman.

"That's why they could never question her or prosecute her because there was no body," Valiante said. "There were no remains. Well, I guess not because she had 'em! Without a body he would have been lost forever."

With both sadness and a new sense of closure, Josephs thanked everyone who supported his family on his Facebook page.

?Even though my face always seems wet from tears, all of your support has indeed helped, and to me been a blessing,? he said. ?I thank you all, those that knew my brother or, just wanted to show support?you people really are amazing.?

The Milwaukee Police and the family of 22-year-old Jessica Benson is asking for the public?s help. Jessica has been missing for nine days.
Benson was last seen on May 9th at her job at Educators Credit Union on W. Appleton Ave. in Milwaukee. Her family last heard from her on the 11th.
Benson is described as 5?4″ with black hair, she wears black framed glasses. Jessica was supposed to graduate from college this weekend.

HONOLULU ? Honolulu police are searching for a tourist from Oregon who has been missing on Oahu since Thursday.

Police said Saturday that Ivanice "Ivy" Harris was last seen early Thursday morning talking to a man outside a bar in Waikiki and has not been seen since.

Harris traveled to Hawaii from Portland with friends to celebrate turning 29, which was Saturday.

Her mother tells Hawaii News Now Harris would call every day and she hasn't heard from her.

Harris' boyfriend, Mark Miles, told KATU that it's unusual for her to be out of touch for so long.

"She's got a big family that loves her and they all got her back," Miles said in a phone interview from Honolulu. "So there wouldn't be a reason for her not to call anybody."

Harris' sister set up a Facebook page called "Bring Ivanice Home." She told KATU she plans to set up a fundraiser to hire a private detective.

London's Daily Mail reports this morning that doctors were about to put the one-year-old into cold storage when they noticed the bag move.

Little Eisa Hayat was the sole survivor of a car smash which wiped out the British family on their pilgrimage to Mecca last year.

Doctors in Saudi Arabia thought the toddler had also died in the crash and he was "zipped up" in a body bag.

Eisa, who survived the crash because his grandfather shielded him from the impact, was then taken to hospital and has made a full recovery, according to the Daily Mail.

The child's great-uncle Shazada Hayat said emergency service workers all assumed no-one survived the horror smash.

"They took him, zipped him up in the bag and took him to the morgue," he said. "He ended up in the mortuary.

"But as they were putting him in to storage, he moved around.

"They grabbed him, put him in an ambulance and rushed him to the Medina Children's Care Hospital."

The Daily Mail reports that Eisa has earlier set out with relatives from the family home in Newport, South Wales, for the religious journey.

The three-generations has travelled 5000km when their vehicle crashed.

Eisa lost both parents, grandparents and aunt when the driver fell asleep and the car veered off the road and smashed into a concrete bridge, according to the Daily Mail.

Eisa was later treated for a dislocated shoulder and a broken arm and ribs.

He is now being raised by relatives following his two near-death experiences.

A British father yesterday admitted cutting the throats of his two young children after being allowed to spend time alone with them for the first time since his bitter divorce from their French mother.
The 48-year-old man, who has not been named, murdered his ten-year-old son and daughter, aged five, on Saturday afternoon before fleeing on roller skates.
His ex-wife had handed over the children on Friday evening and they spent a night in the old family home in Saint-Priest, a suburb of Lyon in eastern France.

This was despite the unemployed man being a heavy drinker and having been violent towards his wife before their divorce up to three years ago.
When the mother, an accountants assistant also in her 40s, returned to pick up the children from the second-floor apartment at around 5pm on Saturday she saw the father looking panicked.

He was in the stairwell of the block and his clothes were covered in blood, said a neighbour. ?He made off on a pair of roller skates, leaving his car in the apartment blocks garage. The man was found in the citys 8th arrondissement around three hours later.
A judicial source said a knife thought to be the murder weapon had been found in the flat. The source said the double murder was clearly linked to a painful separation and legal procedures concerning the right to access to the children which the father deemed insufficient.
In 2010 the father had attacked his then wife, leading to these rights of access being withdrawn.

This was the first weekend since then that the man had been allowed to have the boy and girl with him without an adult third party.
The Lyon prosecuting source said the man admitted being the murderer but did not give many more details. The father has been living in France for ten years and was married in 2005.
Investigators are particularly keen to know who gave him legal authority to look after the children. It emerged that the couple had also been involved in a legal dispute over the flat, which is worth around 100,000.

There was a lot of friction because the wife wanted the flat so that the money could be divided up, while he wanted to keep the house, said another investigating source.
Ahmed Benguedda, a former neighbour of the couple, said they had divorced two or three years ago.
He confirmed that the father had drinking problems and had been violent towards his wife. The mother won custody of the children following the divorce and went to live in the Isere region, which is just to the south-east of Lyon, an easy drive or train journey away.

Mr Benguedda said the children were well-balanced and often played with his seven-year-old daughter. The people who live here are all in a state of shock, he added.
Yesterday the apartment block was surrounded by detectives and forensics teams. A sign across the door contained the single word: Homicide.
We've been told to keep away, said one neighbour, who asked not to be named. We used to see the man come and go, but until this weekend hadn?t seen him with his children for years.

They suddenly turned up out of the blue, and then this. It is deeply shocking. We are all traumatised.
Other local residents said the man was often seen wandering around nearby shops and bars, and was well known for his British accent.
A neighbour who socialised with the man before his divorce said: He and his wife used to be like any other young couple they took the children to the park, they went out for dinner.

That all changed with the divorce, however it was clearly very messy indeed.
A Foreign Office spokesman said the matter was being investigated. We are aware of the reports and we are urgently looking into them, the spokesman said.
The man is set to be brought before Lyon prosecutors today when he is expected to be formally charged with the murders.

On Sunday, Police Chief Michael Floore released the name of the dead girl as Jayla Keith and said an autopsy earlier in the day determined the girl died of blunt force trauma to her head. Police have not released the names of the boys because they are juveniles.

Floore said that the investigation was continuing, but that it appears the girl?s death was accidental. He said it was too soon to say if the boys will face criminal charges, but that the departments findings will be submitted to the St. Clair County states attorneys office.

On Sunday, Mayor Alvin Parks Jr. said he hoped the girls death will serve as a reminder to parents that they have to make sure their car keys are in a place where their children cannot get to them.

University student Andrea Rebello, 21, was killed by an officer at a New York home on Friday after being taken hostage by an armed home invader.
Ms Rebello, 21, was in the house with her twin sister Jessica and two friends when 30-year-old Dalton Smith entered through an unlocked door wearing a ski mask and demanded valuables.
Unsatisfied by the valuables handed over, he ordered one of the women to leave the house to visit an ATM ? but threatened to kill one of her friends if she did not return in eight minutes.
Instead, the woman alerted police.
Nassau County homicide squad Lieutenant John Azzata said police arrived at the scene to find Smith holding Ms Rebello in a headlock.

"He kept saying, 'I'm going to kill her,' and then he pointed the gun at the police officer," he said.
The officer fired eight shots but one of the shots missed Smith and hit the young student in the head, killing her.
Smith was also killed in the shooting.
Ms Rebello's twin sister was attempting to escape when police arrived, while her male friend was hiding behind a couch.
Lt Azzata said the officer, who has been placed on sick leave, had about 12 years' experience.
Smith was well-known by police and had an arrest history dating back almost 15 years.
An investigation into the shooting is underway.

A 16-year-old UK boy who was too embarrassed to tell anyone he found a lump in his testicle for eight months has died just two weeks after seeing a doctor.


Michael Rushby, from Grangetown in northeast England, finally plucked up the courage to tell his older brother John, 22, when the pair were having a drink together on April 17.
"The lump was obvious so I took him straight to A&E [accident and emergency]," John told British newspaper the Evening Gazette.
"The doctor said just by looking at it there was an 80 percent chance it was cancer," he said.

Michael, who went by the nickname Mikey, went to James Cook University Hospital for tests and was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen and chest.
Doctors told the teen he had a 75 percent chance of beating the disease and he underwent a week of chemotherapy.

He was allowed to go home on April 26.
Just three days later Mikey was getting ready to go back to hospital for a check-up when he collapsed on the stairs.
He died later that day in hospital.

John gave a heartbreaking account of events as they unfolded on his Facebook page.
On April 19 he pleaded for his brother to stay strong, saying: "Mikey u don't know how much ya hurting me son get through this mate and we can live ya life to the max ya a lot braver than me son love u with all ma heart."

John even redecorated his little brother's room days before he returned from hospital, telling his friends and family on April 23 he was: "Wallpaper and paint shopping with Dawn for my bro! Gunna do ya room mint Mikey xx."
Mikey's family is now calling for others to speak out about medical issues, no matter how embarrassing.
"I think he knew himself he was dying. He was adamant about coming home and he never complained," his mother Patricia said.
"I want to say to anyone who ever thinks they might have a problem, go to your mum, go to your dad, go to someone. Mikey could have come to his mum - I wouldn't have been embarrassed."

The teen also leaves behind his father Michael and four sisters, Lisa, Jacqueline, Michelle and Leanne.
An inquest has been opened into his death.

It was supposed to be a dream trip: Two children and their parents on a yearlong family road trip around Australia.

But the dream turned to tragedy Wednesday when the parents apparently got into trouble while swimming off a remote beach in Western Australia, while their children, ages 10 and 12, were on shore.

The children watched as other beachgoers desperately tried to resuscitate their mother after her body drifted ashore, CNN's Australian affiliate ABC News reported.

The children had spotted their mother floating face-down in the water, ABC News said. Their father was also briefly seen floating face-down before disappearing under water, the broadcaster said.
Kathreen Ricketson, 41, is believed to have drowned, Western Australia police said.

The search continued Thursday for her husband, 48-year-old Robert Shugg, but there is little hope of finding him alive.

"His body hasn't been recovered," 1st Class Constable Richard Du Cloux of Exmouth police told CNN. "The search is still going on and will continue until all avenues have been exhausted."

The children have been reunited with family members, Du Cloux said.

The family was camping by Ningaloo Reef, a remote but beautiful spot about 45 kilometers (28 miles) south of Coral Bay, when disaster struck.

Ricketson, who described herself online as "mother.maker.wife.artist.writer.traveller. Adventuring with my family on year-long road trip around Australia," had been blogging about their trip.

Her last entry, posted Monday, reads: "We are bush camping at a station on Ningaloo reef, Western Australia. A dream come true -- is that totally corn ball?"

They had met another family there, Ricketson's blog said, and the children were enjoying playing together.

A photo of a beach at sunset posted to Instagram by Ricketson on Sunday was captioned: "Ningaloo beach for Robbie's birthday. Sweet."

"It's an extremely remote, rugged area," said Du Cloux. "People go camping there, (but) you've got to be fully self-sufficient, there's no amenities at all."

The alarm was raised by a fellow camper, who set off an emergency positioning beacon, Du Cloux said. The nearest police station, in Exmouth, is about 2? hours away.

Efforts to find the body of the children's missing father are being led by the police and Department of Environment and Conservation officials, he said. An aerial search will resume at daylight Friday.

This kind of incident is thankfully unusual in the area, Du Cloux said.

The family set off on their road trip -- described by Ricketson as a "12 month family sabbatical to reconnect as a family and slow down our life" -- in early January.

The parents planned to home-school the children on the road and continue their online work, according to her blog. Ricketson ran a crafts and lifestyle website, Whip Up, as well as a children's activities website, Action Pack Magazine.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the sudden death of Whip Up founder, Kathreen Ricketson. Her partner Rob Shugg is still missing at Coral Bay, Western Australia. Their two gorgeous, beloved children, to whom we send our love, are with relatives," a post by a contributor to the Whip Up site said Thursday.
