After the local Fox TV station here in D.C. reported Jennings's story, neurologists who saw the video (which is now a fixture on YouTube) said the symptoms didn't appear to be dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes sustained muscle spasms, but rather a psychogenic disorder, meaning the symptoms are real, but the cause is psychological. People with dystonia and the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation also spoke up; they were not happy to have their very real ailment pulled into the mix, especially since it has never been associated with the flu vaccine. Faced with the criticism, Generation Rescue pulled Jennings's story from its website http://health.usnews.com/blogs/on-parenting/2009/11/02/flu-fears-vaccine-fears-and-cheerleader-desiree-jenningss-story.html

ALL those kids are going to hell, even i couldnt help but chuckle. - im as horrible as they are. but it was kind of educational and it got the kids speaking their opinions whether or not they thought it was real. They also researched dystonia. good times.

I think it's real and very sad. I just don' think someone can fake spasming that hard and severe. The doctor pissed me off because "there was no literature on it". Hey dumbass, don't you realize that new and scary diseases and disorders are discovered all the time that have no previous literature?

I only had a chuckle at the start when she was in the vid behind the newsreporter in slow mo, like wtf.
What a shitty thing to happen to her, just like that, no gradually getting worse over years and years. all from a flu jab. I hope she can someway overcome this. I guess nothing like that is ever going to be 100%, is one in a million really a reason to stop having it? I don't know the risks really as i don't have kids, I know its not the same but I had to have the yellow fever jab, worst.thing.ever. i had some bad reactions (which 3 in 10 are likely to get) but i wouldn't go on aid tours without it.

I got both flu shots the day before I saw this. Poor girl. But damn, that music to the video is so funny. Like I said, going to hell.

In a press release made on November 4, it seems as if Desiree is making a remarkable recovery. It isn't clear whether her diagnosis is still dystonia as her personal doctor has given further detail about her diagnosis. Jennings was misdiagnosed multiple times with a variety of diagnoses since receiving the influenza shot, which she thought would protect her from illness. She has since been diagnosed by her treating physician, Dr. Rashid A. Buttar, with a number of conditions including but not limited to Acute, Viral Post Immunization Encephalopathy and Mercury Toxicity with secondary respiratory and neurological deficits. The press release mentions 'neurological deficits' but does not specifically indicate that Jennings suffered from dystonia, as previously determined. Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder in which sustained muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures. The disorder may be inherited or caused by other factors such as birth-related or other physical trauma, infection, poisoning or reaction to drugs. It is known to be irreversible. If Desiree Jennings was told she had dystonia, it may have been a mis-diagnosis. She is now recovering from many of the symptoms of dystonia that doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins diagnosed the NFL cheerleader. They thought, at the time, it was caused by a severe reaction to the flu shot. The treatments with Dr. Buttar at the Center for Advanced Medicine and Clinical Research in Charlotte, NC are working, and the results are nothing short of amazing. Jennings can now walk and talk normally throughout the vast majority of the day and the seizures and convulsions have significantly decreased. Washington Redskins Cheerleader Desiree Jennings seems to be on the road to recovery a month after the scare that has been speculated to be from the seasonal flu vaccine. http://www.huliq.com/8059/88521/nfl-cheerleader-desiree-jennings-recovering-flu-shot-reaction

Well that's a blessing. So why is she acting like she is?
I'm guessing the video and story is from before she was getting better. She started getting sick in the beginning of September.

I'm guessing the video and story is from before she was getting better. She started getting sick in the beginning of September.
I got this from a doctor's website that says she was misdiagnosed. Apparently, people don't recover from dystonia like she has. The allegation is that this diagnosis and cause a was made up to scare people off of the flu vaccine. Whatever it is, I'm glad to see her doing so much better.
http://www.youtube.com/v/GD1BAxVnFdc&rel=1 .....You remember Desiree Jennings? She's the young woman who received a seasonal flu vaccine in August and later developed what is being represented as dystonia but is almost certainly not. The other day, her VAERS database report was found, which casts even more doubt on her story, given that the neurologist who examined her when she presented concluded that there was a strong psychogenic component to whatever it was that was wrong with her. What has been brought to my attention is that, after promoting Jennings as evidence that the flu vaccine is harmful, deleting its page asking for donations for her, and then deciding to support her again, it looks as though Generation Rescue is going full mental jacket in supporting her again. Indeed, it looks as though GR has hooked Jennings up with a character I've discussed numerous times on this blog. More on that later. In the meantime, check out her website, where she tells her story and touting her "cure":.....
......The story being spread by Dr. Buttar about her dramatic improvement is excellent evidence that Desiree Jennings' dystonia was almost certainly psychogenic all along. Her recovery was too miraculously fast to be plausible especially if she appeared as sick as is being reported, even if the snake oil Dr. Buttar administered had a real physiological effect on her nervous system.
Like Steve, I'm glad that Desiree Jennings is apparently recovering, whatever the reason. Hopefully she can get back to her normal life. But I roundly condemn Generation Rescue and Dr. Buttar for their cynical exploitation of this vulnerable young woman. Given J. B. Handley's history, I have to wonder if they would have gone so far to promote this story if Ms. Jennings had been a 25-year-old average-looking man, rather than a beautiful 25-year-old woman who was also an NFL cheerleader........ http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2009/11/desiree_jennings_cured.php?utm_source=selectfeed&utm_medium=rss

I felt sorry for her and I didn't laugh until I noticed she was still wearing those ridiculous-assed furry boots. Then all of my pity diminished.
I'm late here but Ron applauded me on this topic. But would you like to be judged by what you wear Sue? I know, you may already be, and know how it feels. Poor girl, this could be any of our daughters (who have kids). I haven't came back here cos it makes me really sad.

There is absolutely NOTHING funny, and I do have a morbid, sick sense of humor. Someone care to explain exactly what is funny? I'm curious.

Yea, I'm not one of those people writing letters about how rowdy Howard Stern is, and how he needs to be off the air. But I just don't see it here. Meh.
