Amber Hopkins was a 31-year-old woman who went missing on January 14, 2019, at about 1 a.m. in Minnesota. Her body was found on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

But what really could have happened to Amber Hopkins?

According to her family, Amber Hopkins, 31, was struggling with heroin addiction. When she disappeared, she was living in abandoned homes in north Minneapolis. Alarms were raised when her phone became unreachable. That was in January and two months later, she was found dead.

Amber's body was located in the backyard of an abandoned home. Police treated her death as a crime and according to the words of the home painter who called the police, it appeared her killers were trying to hide her body.

She was found under debris, wood, and leaves, curled up. She may have been dead for a while as she had snow melting around her body.

Amber did not have any easily visible signs of trauma. She was fully clothed when found, wearing a jacket and black high boots.
