The Greene County Sheriff's Office reports it is investigating a shooting death that occurred south of Farmville on Wednesday, possibly during an armed robbery.

Deputies responded about 1 a.m. to 57 Brian Drive, which is off of U.S. 13 near U.S. 258 in Greene County, according to Sheriff Lemmie Smith.

Witnesses on scene told deputies that two people broke into the home and demanded money. During the incident, Kevin Earl Baker, 20, was fatally shot, Smith reported.

The witnesses were not able to identify the suspects. The State Bureau of Investigation is currently assisting in the investigation.
