On Tuesday night a young, wonderful man lost his young, beautiful bride. A twin said goodbye to her strong and beautiful twin sister. Parents lost their baby girl and brothers lost their little sister.

Elizabeth was a young, beautiful, life-loving woman who was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic condition that resulted in numerous lung and digestive issues throughout her life. Late in the afternoon on Thursday April 12th 2018 Elizabeth was admitted to hospital with yet another chest infection, nothing out of the ordinary for someone with CF and once again she was ready to fight. She was admitted to the ward and hooked up to antibiotics to help fight the infection. Unbeknownst to everyone – family, friends and even medical professional – on Tuesday April 17th things went downhill quickly for Liz while her twin sister Kathleen was visiting. While doctors were helping Liz, Kathleen was left with the heartbreaking task of phoning family to inform them of the change in Liz's condition. Liz's husband Dave, her parents and siblings hurried to the hospital, but sadly Liz passed away before they arrived with her twin sister by her side. Just like that, what we all thought was just another chest infection had taken a beautiful person away from us all.

When Liz passed away she left behind a devastated family, including her husband of just 7 months – Dave. Dave is an incredible guy – there are so many words that could be used to describe him but one that stands out is LOVING. He loves, and the most important thing he loved has now been cruelly taken away from him – his wife. Dave met Liz in late 2015 and it was love at first sight. He welcomed Liz into his life with open arms, loving and caring for her unconditionally. Liz had CF and with that came a huge array of medical issues – daily medications, doctors appointments, hospital visits, hospital stays, surgeries, ambulance trips, sleepless nights, home IV's, the list goes on… This all added up mentally, emotionally and financially for them, but they always had each other. They were always smiling and happy and just got on with living and loving. During the last 2 years Liz had numerous hospital admissions – some short and some long. Dave would take time off work to be with her and to care for her when she came home. He provided emotionally and financially for Liz when times were tough and always did it without complaining.

Now Dave needs help from his friends and family – mentally, emotionally and financially. NOTHING is going to ease his pain, NOTHING will mend his broken heart, but financial assistance will give him time to grieve and mourn for the loss of Liz. Bills are still going to come in, rent will still need to be paid, food still needs to be eaten, Liz needs to be farewelled and while Dave is unable to work we are trying to do what we can to help. Please, if you can spare a few dollars, every little bit will help. If you wanted to send flowers, please donate instead. Please share this page with your family and friends and ask them to help. Your donation to supporting Dave through this most difficult time is sincerely appreciated.
