Julie Christine (Bryant) Edwards, 55, Grove, died on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at her home from brain cancer.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1962 to Judith and Kenneth Bryant in St. Louis, Missouri. The family later moved to Columbus, Kansas, where she graduated from Columbus Unified High School in 1981.

She graduated from Northeastern A&M College in 2005 with a mastery of early childhood education.

She owned and operated three childcare facilities including Precious Jewels in Grove from 2003 to 2007, and a home daycare from 2007 to 2008. She later worked for Extreme Power and Legacy Hospice.

She enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She married Robert Edwards on May 15, 1997 in Pittsburg, Kansas. He survives.

Additional survivors include her sons: Brandon (Samantha) Edwards and Brian (Kimberly) Edwards, all of Grove; and four grandchildren: Jenessa Edwards, of Jay, Jaden Edwards and Kale Newkirk, both of Grove, and Rhett Edwards, anticipated to arrive in February 2018.

She is also survived by her parents: Judith Bicknell, Columbus, Kansas, and Kenneth Bryant, Collinsville, Illinois; two sisters: Jacque (Steve) Litle, Harrisonville, Missouri, and Janet (DG) Ellison, Columbus, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a niece, Stacey Edwards; a nephew, Gerrick Wheeldon; her maternal grandparents, John and Ada Werder, her paternal grandmother, Lavina Bryant, and her grandfather, W.L. York, Jr. and an aunt Dorma Tumey.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m., at Lawson's Funeral Home Chapel, in Grove.

Services will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Foundation Free Will Baptist Church, rural Grove, with Pastor Sam Smith officiating, under the direction of Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Shaunda J. Lawson 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director & staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Foundation Free Will Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
