Diane Kennedy Francini passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 after a short, but brave battle against pancreatic cancer. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be missed dearly. Diane was born on June 27, 1946 in Bayonne, NJ to William Kennedy, a US Navy Veteran and Postmaster General of NJ and Henrietta Fife Kennedy, a homemaker, and party host extraordinaire. Growing up, Diane enjoyed figure skating and was an excellent student graduating at the top of her high school and nursing school class. In 1972, she would meet and marry her husband of nearly half a century, Glenn Francini and give up her promising nursing career to raise their two children, Alyssa and Brad, who both enjoyed her passion for life that included travel to many far away destinations across Europe, the Caribbean and Australia. She also had a passion for competition and sport, especially tennis. A devoted team mom and junior tournament travel partner to her children and their friends growing up, and a team captain and player into her 70's, she never missed a grand slam tournament, or an opportunity to sit center court to watch her favorite player, Roger Federer compete. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren Olivia and Cooper Pharr The tributes her family and friends have shared have revealed what Diane really meant to so many people she touched during her life. She will never be forgotten. Diane is survived by her husband Glenn, her son Brad, her daughter Alyssa and son-in-law Sean Pharr, grandchildren, Olivia and Cooper Pharr and many other relatives who loved her deeply. The funeral service for Diane will be held on November 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to carry on Diane's legacy of serving children, advancing women's issues, and researching better treatments for pancreatic cancer please make a donation in her honor to one of her favorite charities.
