Authorities say a worker was killed in an explosion at a Berks County manufacturing plant.
Emergency crews were called to the Timet titanium plant in Caernarvon Township near Morgantown just before 11 p.m. Friday.
Deputy Berks County Coroner Christopher Chesonis pronounced 27-year-old Jacob Lopez of Ephrata dead shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Township police officer Matthew Menna said the blast happened in the melt shop of the plant, but there was no fire by the time officers arrived. At least one other person was transported to Reading Hospital for treatment.
