Two people killed Sunday in a head-on crash on Wisconsin 22 between Gillett and Oconto Falls have been identified as Blaik Fischer, 18, of Lena, and Karen Reinhold, 36, of Oconto Falls.

Fischer was eastbound on 22 when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit Reinhold's westbound vehicle.

Fischer was pronounced dead at the scene. Reinhold was taken to St. Claire's Hospital in Oconto Falls, where she later died.

An 11-year-old passenger in Reinhold's vehicle also was taken to St. Claire's and was treated for minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 4:33 p.m. about halfway between Oconto County K and Wisconsin 32, roughly three miles east of Gillett and 3½ miles west of Oconto Falls.

Fischer was a 2014 graduate of Lena High School, superintendent Dave Honish said. Guidance counselor Shelly Meisner held special meetings for juniors and seniors on Monday to help them through the grieving process.

"Everyone here's feeling it," Honish said.
