April 23, 1988-Oct. 29, 2014 Derek Boston, 26, was called home by the Lord on October 29, 2014. Derek courageously battled with his kidney disease for many years, always with a strong will to live and never losing hope for a good outcome. Derek spent most of his life in Marysville, Wash. He attended the local schools and was part of the MPHS class of 2006. Derek enjoyed making new friends and many of his friendships were lifelong. If someone was in need of help, he would give whatever he could without question. Derek had a wide variety of people that he enjoyed spending time with. He possessed mechanical skills and had a gift of repairing things that others would just throw away. He enjoyed rap music and anything electronic interested him. Derek could be funny, caring, and extremely stubborn at times. He lived life on his own terms. His passing has left a huge emptiness in the hearts of people he has touched. Derek leaves behind his mother, Shannon Boston, father, Kelly Boston; his five year old son, Cayden and brother, Chase Boston. He is also survived by his grandparents, Diane Smith, Jackie Buchholz and Jerry Boston. He leaves aunts, Holly Smith and Andrea Smith, uncles, Kevin Boston (Corey) and Darren Smith; and numerous cousins, family members, and friends. Derek was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Smith that he missed so much. Special thanks to the staff at Davita Dialysis Center, Everett, WA, and Providence Everett Medical Center for caring for Derek. We also want to thank the Marysville Fire Department EMT's and the Arlington Fire Department EMT's for the many times they saved Derek's life blessing us with extra time to spend with him. A Service will be held Thursday November 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Schaefer Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA. Burial will directly follow at Arlington Cemetery. RIP Derek, We love you!
