The Pierce County Medical Examiner has ruled David Haas' death as a suicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head. The 17-year-old student . According to , the driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt.
Officials have confirmed that Haas suffered a skull fracture and a fatal brain injury. Drugs or alcohol were not stated as a contributing factor in his death.
Haas is survived by his parents, Scott and Patricia, and two brothers, Alex and Michael. Two other brothers, Matthew and Peter, died in 2006 and 2009.
