Christopher R. Thomas, age 18, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Friday evening, June 3, 2011 at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville.

Son of Tony Wade Thomas and Tonya Legette Thomas, Christopher had been a lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach. He was a Junior at Fernandina Beach High School. An avid Florida Gator fan, he and his mom enjoyed their constant rivalry wars; that always ended peacefully. He enjoyed time on Facebook, creating new uses for his cell phone and anything to improve his computer's performance. Christopher was a member of the First Assembly of God of Fernandina Beach where he was actively involved with the Royal Rangers and just before obtaining his Gold Medal Achievement Award.

He leaves behind, his mother, Tonya Thomas, his father, Tony Thomas, two brothers, Brandon Wade Thomas, Elijah James Thomas, all of Fernandina Beach, FL, his paternal grandfather, Chuck Duckworth, Neptune Beach, FL, aunt, Tammy Ouellette, Jacksonville Beach, FL, uncle, Dave Thomas (Kim), Fernandina Beach, FL, aunt, Kelli Thomas (Eric), Palm Coast, FL, cousins, Destiny Bass (Donovan), Matthew Thomas (Ashley) and countless other family, friends and extended family members.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from the First Assembly of God of Fernandina Beach with Pastor Edwin Shick and Reverend Janice Colson, officiating.

Christopher's family received friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Home.
