First degree murder charges are filed for a man accused of causing a deadly crash while fleeing an attempted bank robbery.

Francis Dishmon, 51, of Tulsa, Oklahoma was arrested in Ottawa County on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say he had tried unsuccessfully to rob the IBC Bank in Miamuh on Thursday morning, then fled north out of town on U.S. Highway 69 at speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.

They say he caused a semi-truck and another vehicle to run off the road.

The murder charge is for the death of the truck driver killed in the crash. That driver has been identified as James Wivell, 48 of Longmont, Colorado.

After the crash, Dishmon left his car and investigators found him hiding nearby.

Dishmon has not yet been charged with the attempted robbery in Miami.

An official with the FBI says as of right now federal charges will not be brought against Dishmon, but that could change.
