Jennifer L. Striebig, 24, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at York Hospital. There will be a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday September 6, followed by a 7 p.m. service from J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The Rev. George M. Schneider will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Born October 8, 1987, in York, Jennifer was the daughter of Jeffery Striebig of York and Alverta R. "Birdie" (Hess) Striebig, and her adopted dad, Kevin Shaub, of Shrewsbury. Jennifer attended Susquehannock High School and was active in the concert choir and the indoor color guard. She was full of life, even during her illness. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Don and Judy Striebig of Dagsboro, Del.; sisters, Lisa M. Chavez of Mechanicsburg and Shannon Prusak of New Freedom; two nephews, Chase and Cameron Attig-Chavez; a special aunt and uncle, Pam and Chuck Gallagher of Dover; and numerous friends. Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Aroma Hess. In Jennifer's name, contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation , 2615 Joppa Road, York, PA 17403.
