Jerry C. Brownlee, 47, of Elkhart, died Thursday (May 12, 2011) at his home. He was born March 2, 1964 in Fontana, California to Gerald & Kathleen (Palen) Brownlee. Surviving is a daughter, Paige Brownlee a step daughter, Ashley Gibson both of Alpine, CA and 1 step granddaughter. Also surviving are her parents, Gerald and Kathleen Brownlee of Elkhart, 4 sisters, Kimberly (Matthew) Frantz, Stephanie Smith, Jennifer (Casey) Harper all of Elkhart, Jessica (Eric) St. Germain of Goshen and a grandmother, Barbara Palen of Nevada. Jerry was a US navy veteran and a member of the DAV. He enjoyed playing the base guitar and drawing and sculpting things. He was formerly employed as a welder. A military graveside service will be held in the veterans section at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
