Jacob Daniel Heynen, 32, of Effingham passed away at 10:14 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham, with Scott Livengood officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.
Jacob was born Sept. 28, 1979, in Effingham, the son of Dan Heynen and Janice (Dasenbrock) Heynen.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years and later worked at FedEx and Edy's Ice Cream in Effingham.
Jacob loved to play frisbee golf with his friends, he loved writing poetry and, most of all, he loved playing with his children. Jacob was a kind and inspirational soul who touched many lives with his love and compassion.
Jacob is survived by his children, Joel and Leah Heynen and their mother, Micah Laue of Toledo; mother, Janice Heynen of Effingham; father, Dan (Linda) Heynen of Effingham; three brothers, Robert Finley and Dennis Heynen, both of Effingham, and Kyle (Melissa) Heynen of New York City; three sisters, Trishia Heynen-Mays of Nashville, Tenn., and Cara (Ben) Bateman and Cassie Heynen-Wheeler, both of Effingham; nephews and nieces, Zac, Claire, Kaylee, Elijah, Katlin, Alec and Codey; grandmother, Helen A. Dasenbrock of Effingham; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold R. Dasenbrock and Clarence Austin; and his grandmother, Violet Austin.
