Police have identified the man who was shot to death Monday afternoon in North San Jose as Martin Chacon, 38.

Chacon was one of two people killed on an unusually violent Monday in the city; a third person was also shot during the day and suffered life-threatening wounds. Police have not updated that person's medical condition.

Police believe the two homicides were unrelated incidents. A woman was found stabbed to death Monday evening on the sidewalk at West San Carlos Street, near Meridian Avenue. The woman's identity has not yet been released.
Chacon was found shot to death at about 1:40 p.m after officers responded to a call of multiple shots fired near Charles Street and Oakland Road in North San Jose, according to Sgt. Jason Dwyer. They found a white Impala parked on Charles Street just off Oakland Road with a man slumped over in the driver's seat. He had been shot once.

Police say they have not made any arrests in the case.
