Kayla was born on Aug. 12, 1987, to proud parents Calvin and Kim (Nile) Bessey. Tragically, on May 7, 2012, Kayla lost her courageous battle with the long-term illness of asthma, and God welcomed another angel home.
Kayla enjoyed life to its fullest; everything she did was done with passion. Kayla fought hard but she loved even harder. Kayla holds a special place in the hearts of so many people.
Kayla is survived by her parents, Calvin and Kim (Nile) Bessey; her three daughters, Whitney, Xavier and Alli, all of Madison; her paternal grandparents, Shirley and Warren Bessey, of North Anson; her sister and brother-in-law, Tia and Will Carpenter, of Madison; her brother, Travis Bessey, of California; fiance Christopher Shulenski, of Madison; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Kayla was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Maurice and Marion Nile, of North New Portland; uncles Maurice J. Nile and Thomas Bessey; and aunt Renee Nile. Kayla will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who know her. We will always love you!
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 10, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at First Congregational Church in North Anson, with the Rev. David Walz officiating.
