The Hinds County coroner has released the name of a 24-year-old man who was shot and killed near a Jackson library branch.

Jeremy Farabee died Monday after he was shot in the arm and to the abdomen, the coroner said.

The shooting happened about 2 p.m. Monday on East Northside Drive, police said.

Farabee stumbled to the Charles W. Tisdale Library at 807 E. Northside Drive, where he collapsed. Farabee was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he died, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
