Sheriff's deputies in Cleveland County said the shooting deaths of a man and woman in Grover was a murder-suicide.
Dennis Moss, 60, and Dawn Moss, 39, died Saturday night.
Sheriff Alan Norman said Sgt. Mark Self, a deputy who had been dispatched to the couple's home, saw Dennis Moss shoot his wife.
Norman said Self fired his gun in an effort to protect Dawn Moss. Dennis Moss then fled in a pickup truck and the officer followed before the suspect shot and killed himself, Norman said.
Dawn Moss died at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
The couple had two children.
