A 27-year-old man from Georgia has been arrested for brutally killing his girlfriend's Pomeranian dog and then using the dead animal's body as a club to beat her with.

After repeatedly kicking Cooper the dog and breaking the tragic pooches neck, Emmanuel Alfredo Tadeo turned the corpse into a weapon as he battered his 40-year-old girlfriend, Andrea Armintrout.

Arrested on battery and animal cruelty charges, Sandy Springs police took Tadeo into custody in the Fulton Country Jail as he waits trial for the felonies.

'The defendant in this case had taken the dog outside and was kicking their dog - a Pomeranian - and the victim picked the dog back up and took it in,' said Sandy Springs Police Captain Steve Rose to MyFox Atlanta

'The man followed her in, took the dog back and literally kicked the dog to death.'

Allegedly, Tadeo then picked up the dog's body and proceeded to hit Armintrout with the corpse before she managed to call the police who arrived and arrested Tadeo.

'This kinda tops the chart as to how disturbing it was,' said Rose.

Labeling the attack 'savage', police condemned the killing of Cooper, who weighed seven pounds.

'He beat her with the dog and if that's not enough he then snaps the dogs neck,' said Rose.

Booking him on aggravated assault, aggravated battery charges and cruelty to animal charges.

Upon arriving to the bizarre animal cruelty case on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, police also arrested Armintrout.

She has been charged with obstructing justice as police attempted to investigate the gruesome killing of Cooper.

Police in Sandy Springs commented that they had never seen such a savage attack.

'The animal was a small animal, totally defenseless, it's just a very, very cruel act,' said Rose.

'This just shows how savage this person is towards every living thing.'
